England vs All Blacks
-
Joe Moody has been ruled out of the rest of the tour with an eye injury. This is a massive loss, Tim Perry is not an adequate replacement imo. Angus Ta'avao comes into the squad.
-
In other news, Joe Moody has changed his name by deed poll to Ryan Crotty.
TBH, you could argue Big Karl is the better choice at the moment.
-
A big loss but hardly a Massive one, not like Karl T hasn’t been playing poorly.

Karl tends to miss a lot of tackles. Great scrummager but Moody is still the better all round prop. It's Perry that concerns me, hopefully they will opt for Ofa as the bench loosehead cover instead.
I thought TP was on way back to NZ?

You're right. My bad. He was part of the additional 19 that joined the squad in Japan.

Joe also has a habit of getting penalised at very inopportune moments. I don't think it will matter much.

dont think it's been mentioned?
But anyone read the pile of steaming poo that Gregor Paul wrote about Shields?
he has made some pretty bold statements that the AB coaches 'cant stand' Brad Shields - if I put my own spin on it, my view would be they dont like the fact he can up sticks and play in another country so easily, but as it's all done within the rules by the governing body, whats the issue?
There are no direct quotes or actual evidence in the article, but seems he's just written and article based on what he thinks they think?
We benefitted in the past when the rules were less stringent (Michael Jones, Frank Bunce to name a couple)
Going back a number of years I used to like his articles, but in recent times he seems to be moving toward the click bait type reads that @MN5 's Dad and Uncle write!

To use an analogy someone used when trying to pick between Trump and Clinton: Trying to pick a decent NZ Rugby journo is like trying to choose the cleanest end of a piece of dog shit to pick up. They are all terrible, admittedly in some cases for completely different reasons than eachother.
Contrast that with some really good British ones, ex players John Beattie, Will Greenwood and Gordon D'arcy all write good insightful and entertaining articles.
-
@taniwharugby Yep, @rotated posted a tweet from Sumo Stevenson with a link to that article. I can't be bothered to read that rubbish and give the NZH my click.

Worked in Sth Wales for 2 years. The likes of Jason Leonard, Will Carling & Robshaw etc, were regarded as top blokes while the likes of Mike Brown or Matt Dawson were seen as twats.
Personally, I think the Welsh just have a finely developed sense of which players are pricks to lose to...
Oh, and Jonathan "space out wide, space out wide" Davies was regarded as a complete tosser for some reason
Yep.
Last 3 of 5 speakers at my local club's annual dinner have been English - Jon Bentley, Andy Rippley, Shaun Edwards.
All have delivered heartfelt and honest talks, taken some tough Q&As, and stuck around and stayed over to drink the night away and talk bollocks with the boys.
Leg Ends.
The dislike of Jonathan Davies by some may be down to his family circumstances rather than his playing career. Won't elaborate but he might not be whiter than white if you get my drift.
Last 5 years, are you sure it was Andy Ripley, Mike? If it was I hope the medium got a bloody good fee. The great man died in 2010

i did read that article. It was long on conjecture, and very short on any substance.

A fairly predictable team. McKenzie looks to be the no1 fullback because Barrett can't run a team by himself. All Blacks: Damian McKenzie, Ben Smith, Jack Goodhue, Sonny Bill Williams, Rieko Ioane, Beauden Barrett, Aaron Smith, Kieran Read (capt), Ardie Savea, Liam Squire, Brodie Retallick, Sam Whitelock, Owen Franks, Codie Taylor, Karl Tu'inukuafe. Reserves: Dane Coles, Ofa Tuungafasi, Nepo Laulala, Scott Barrett, Matt Todd, TJ Perenara, Richie Mo'unga, Ryan Crotty
-
Crotty on the bench is a waste of a spot
