@Canes4life heard the Spark coverage went down again..?

Just watched the game and made a lot of notes. This is what I've taken away from this game.
Coaching: terrible. Some of the substitutions came way too late. Several players suffered from cramp (particularly Mua, Funaki) or minor injuries that seemed to bother the players (esp Lalomilo) and it took ages before they were replaced. The conditions were apparently hot; replacements must be timed better.
Game management: mixed bag. The play still went from side to side too often (esp in the first half), and we just couldn't move forward.
Some really bad handling errors in this game, including unnecessary knock ons. Passing sometimes also sloppy (including from both halves).
Line-outs: went well, both throwing and catching, also after substitutions.
Scrum: there were few in the first half; in the second half we struggled.
Defence against line-out mauls: mixed (there were few of them in the game).
Kicking: goal kicking - mixed results; kicks in play: not too many, but there were some really good ones (from different players)
Tackling: obviously, too many missed tackles. Too many easy scores for the Scots.
Stand-outs: Plumtree, Gregory, Lalomilo (the only reason I left Tupaea out of this list is his missed tackles)
Disappointing: Boshier, Va'ai, Uluilakepa (apart from his early try)
Busiest: Tupaea and Proctor (but not always successful)
Invisible for most of the game: Nanai-Seturo (exceptions were some good runs and a turnover in the 2nd half), Parker
Good bench impact: Williams, Kereru-Symes
-
FYI, the subs that were made during the game:
41' Williams on for Uluilakepa; Grace for Va'ai
51' Kereru-Symes on for Klein
55' Norris on for Dyer
64' Herbert on for Mua; Reihana for Nanai-Seturo
71' Fainga'anuku replaces Lalomilo
72' Carter on for FunakiWithout watching the game and knowing the conditions, the timing of some substitutions may seem okay, but they really weren't.

I think the WR stream on YouTube also went down, so probably not a Spark issue.
-
@Steven-Harris @Rapido In the online video (if you watch on demand), the footage freezes at the 38 minute mark (IRC) and then continues after a short while. So even if there has been a problem with the livestreaming, people can still watch the complete game.

@Machpants We need to finish in the top four of all three pools combined. At the moment, there are four countries with 10 points from 2 wins: France, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
The problem is that we still have to play South Africa. If we lose that match, we can still go through on points differential (assuming that's the tie breaker) if we get a bonus point, even if Argentina (now at 6 points) gets a bonus point win. If Argentina have a bonus point win and we lose without a bonus point, we have to look at France. If we lose without a bonus point and Argentina win without a bonus point, we can still go through on points differential. Good thing is that Argentina and France still have to play each other.
If France loses, we have a slightly better points differential, but we can definitely not suffer a big loss to SA. If France loses with a bonus point, we need a bonus point as well, although all depends on Argentina's competition points on where France - and NZ - finish.
Ireland can still reach the same number of competition points, too, if they win with a bonus point and we lose without a bonus point, but their points differential isn't as good as ours.
So basically, we need at least a bonus point from our game against SA. That ensures a minimum of 11 bonus points and also a good points differential.
-
@Number-10 Yeah, and they have some really big units in that team. I think our boys will struggle against SA. If SA have as many handling errors in their game as they had against Scotland, then we have a chance though. Haven't watched their game against Georgia yet.

Hard to make a global comment since the first 38 minutes are missing.
From what I saw during the second half, the passing was good and the forwards made the hard yards. Williams was a tower of strength with ball in hand. The biggest concern is the scrum. It must be a matter of technique surely as the NZ props are very big boys. Lineout OK. -
I haven';t watched a lot of this, but I've seen enough to think Australia should hump England and you could flick a coin between South Africa and New Zealand.
