@Darren cos of the tax?
A lot more than that. CA is basically it’s own country. I live in Colorado and it is becoming a lot more liberal here but not a patch on CA. Actually Northern California is not bad. But living in LA or San Francisco I couldn’t do it. Traffic, cost of living, poverty.

Highlanders loose-head prop Aki Seiuli has signed a two-year contract with Glasgow Warriors, subject to visa and medical.
-
Former Crusaders and Northland wing Jone Macilai has signed with Munakata Sanix Blues in Japan.
-
So that’s probably the end of Ma’a’s RWC 2023 bid.

He's in SD though - surely not as bad as SF or LA.
At least the winter will be gentle.

@Bovidae I recall listening to an interview with Jamie Mackintosh a couple of years ago and had signed up with an American team, I think he said pay was similar to what he would get playing M10 Cup at the time, then he signed on as Injury cover in France, which I expect was worth more...??

@Tim Knew this for a while and I'm glad Tom Parsons gets this opportunity. He's been outstanding for the Magpies the last few seasons and I really don't understand why he hasn't been offered a SR contract, esp considering the shortage of good locks in NZ. With his 1.98m, he could have been a useful addition to several NZ franchises.

@Stargazer The last line of the NZ Herald article is interesting. Lets hope the local women do their duty and make sure he does not want to leave the area once his EIT course finishes. Reading between the lines he could well be here on some sort of scheme arranged with the HBRFU who seem to find suitable courses for highly rated school leavers to study whilst getting involved with the Academy and the fringe of the Magpies off season training. Anyway with your microscopic eyes for 1st XV and age group rugby is he actually any good?

Few of us here at work looking at dates to head up Norf to see the big man play.
Could be money well spent on him.
It could be outstanding here as he really does have that X factor and should be able to draw.
Just knowing his injury history it does run the risk of being a bit of a fizzer. Maybe that is just the Warriors fan in me remembering the early years?

@Yeetyaah I wish he had stuck around, if he had put together another strong season with the chiefs ,anything is possible especially with injuries ..
When you consider who the next cab off the rank was after these 3..Mounga
Barrett
Josh Ioane
Next...?I reckon based on quality ,he could have been number 4..#justsaying..!

@Steven-Harris You would also have noticed a couple of promising first five in the black and white hooped jerseys this year as well, even if one of them had to play at fullback! Might only be a year or two away from pushing for higher honours.
