not too cool, too apathetic
Yeah I can’t even be bothered naming the team
Too apathetic to hit copy and paste?
This is worrying, we're losing this one because no one gives a shit.
The squad of 80 just makes it too hard

@tewaio said in AB EOYT 2018:
The 3rd Bledisloe is stupid. They should have to win two from two if they want to get it back, like we had to in 2003.
Trouble is that it has reached a point of a familiar pattern where we win the first two, the Wobs have a shit season but see the third as a chance to redeem themselves. The team and the fans are more interested in the NH tour as we are done and dusted vs the Wobs.
-
@mariner4life Agree with you mariner, just say it...Akira we don't like your attitude end of.

The Wallabies have suffered a cruel injury blow with Reece Hodge ruled out of the spring tour after fracturing an ankle.
Coach Michael Cheika revealed the setback after the Wallabies arrived in Japan on Sunday ahead of Saturday’s third Bledisloe Cup clash with the All Blacks in Yokohama.
Utility back Hodge, who has played all nine of Australia’s Tests so far in 2018, is expected to be off his feet for at least two months, with Cheika yet to decide on a replacement for the four-match tour.
Angus Cottrell is also out of Bledisloe selection contention after straining a medial ligament, but he will remain with the squad and is expected to be available for the European Tests against Wales, Italy and England.

Or in Aussie lingo, "The Wallabies have been cruelled by an injury blow..."

Doesn't feel like a Bledisloe test week. Could be because it's a dead rubber? Maybe because it is in Japan? Maybe because it's already Wednesday and Hansen hasn't baited Cheika yet.
Don't expect the last one to happen this week as the most rancid bait will be saved Eddie no doubt.
Plus the team hasn’t been named yet.
When is that by the way?木曜日

It's well after 0500 Japan time, so the team naming is late!

Ireland's ace halfback Conor Murray will not take the field against the All Blacks in Dublin on November 17.
Murray has not fully recovered from a neck injury that has kept him out of all rugby this season and it is still unclear how long it will be before he plays again.
Murray, along with Aaron Smith, the best halfback in the world game at the moment has targeted a return for the Six Nations next year."I'm itching to play, I'm pretty much fully training and I feel good. It's just making sure it's right and the lines of communication with Munster, Ireland, the national coaches, everyone has been clear and they're happy I just get it right and make sure I come back ready to go, rather than pushing it," he told media.
Murray said the injury was one that could not be pushed and he needed to be sure his neck was strong enough to return to play.
He had prepared himself with having to sit on the sideline for Ireland's Test with the All Blacks.
"As a fan, it's really exciting, this November is going to be really, really cool," he said.
But while he couldn't take part it would be an opportunity for someone else.
-
@daffy-jaffy Massive loss for Ireland. It would be the equivalent of us losing BBBR.
-
I watched the Eden Park Wallaby test again last night. We smashed them, but i didn't think we were that great. Murdered them on turn over though, and smashed them on defense. Retallic was massive, and i think BB's 4th try is the try of the year so far.
BB's kicking game was a real mixed bag, some really nice touch-finders, but his high kicks were way to deep to contest.

So he over compensated in Pretoria where they were way too short and left us vulnerable to counter attack?
-
@booboo maybe he's just not that good.
Still think taking that try off for Ardie's knock on was fucking bullshit.

Quite seriously, when is the team named? 5pm my time?
@rotated has been posting. IIRC he usually knows about those things.
I don't know for sure, but outside of RWC where WR set the deadline, but for the last few years it seems like they always try to release for Thursday early morning NZT regardless of where the game is played.

Akira was born in Japan. Might still have his j-passport. Hello, instant eligibility. How wild if Jamie Joseph rang him up this week and said "hey big fella, fancy a run next weekend against some of the loosies they picked ahead of you?"
Haha, cue AB's first ever loss to Japan, most ignominous moment in NZ rugby history, oh look at the highlights reel, there goes Akira fending off Dick Frizzle, FFSFifita and Dillon Hunt (AGAIN) en route to the tryline"
He's only one man. And there goes his ABs eligibility
-
@rocky-rockbottom
(Pedant alert)
If he did still have his JP passport and use it for that purpose, he would, as I think you are aware, also have to give up his NZ citizenship to play for the blossoms.

Relax guys..... geez...Japanese passports aren't given away willy-nilly. It is based on parentage not where you were born / or any other common sense criteria.
-
You don't need a Japanese passport to play rugby for Japan, passports are irrelevant to World Rugby rules. He was born there he's eligible according to WR. The Japanese RU might have their own rules, like France do now, I dunno.
-
Hasn't he played for NZ 7s which would make him ineligible anyway?
-
Yeah it he has, he's captured, I forgot that he had!

Didn't know that!
-
Yeah passports nothing to do with it, stops countries doing like middle eastern countries do in the Olympics, giving passports to athletes so they can try and get medals.
(a) he was born; or
(b) one parent or grandparent was born; or
(c) he has completed thirty six consecutive months of Residence immediately preceding the time of playing. -
Have a vague feeling that the Olympics require passports. Which is great where ethical countries who follow due process are concerned. Not so much if oil rich states want to buy a Kenyan (as @Machpants alluded to).

So did Dominic Feaunati....Koala Tukino.....Roy Kinikinilau.... I'd list more but I'm about to go out on the piss.
-
Akira could play sevens for Samoa and use the Olympic loophole. With a stand down period of 3 years, he could play for Samoa at the 2023 RWC (assuming they qualify; that isn't a given obviously).

You're getting more hilarious by the post. Anything else you care to make up?

Am very interested to see how we go against England , and Ireland in particular now ,
Aussies almost play a style similar to super rugby , that kind of makes it easy for us planning wise , its more of the same same , they score tries , but we score more because we are better at it ,
The NH sides will attempt to suffocate us ,give us nothing , and we have struggled with that in recent times
-
@kiwiinmelb Yeah it is interesting, tho less so with Eng missing a lot of their best pack. I think the ABs will out scrum/lineout/maul the English, and Eng have been shite at the breakdown for the last few years. So even if they try the stiffle/rush, I just don;t see it working for them. I think our midfield, if crappy SBW/Crotty slowmo combo, will get a hard work out against Manu who looks back near his best. They've got fast wings but not great on defence. Not 'worried' about Eng anymore than any game, we could lose if we play crap and Eng play great, Ireland is another kettle of fish. Breakdown and grind and low error rugby is their thing. No Murray is a big bonus of the ABs tho, he turns teams around like no other from ruck kicks.
-
@machpants Courtney Lawes now in doubt as well. His back injury flared up at the training camp and he has left for treatment.
I suspect Eddie was going to play Itoje at 6 if he could as well. That plan may now be out. -
Luke Romano has been ruled out of the extended ABs squad for the Japan test due to the injury he sufferend in the Mitre 10 Cup final.
I assume he won't be replaced?
-
@stargazer they only have 51 other players, they should call up 2 replacements.
