It seems they are indeed rotating players where they can.
It's terrible weather for that NZ Barbarians Schools game, by the way.
The NZ Schools game will be livestreamed on Rugby Australia's Facebook page, maybe also on their YouTube channel. Will post the link as soon as it becomes available. I assume the NZ Barbarians Schools game won't be streamed.

By the way, during last Thursday's game between NZ Schools and Tonga Schools, the commentators were very keen to point out that two of the NZ Schools players were from Australia. That makes me wonder how many of these players in the Aussie squads are in fact Kiwis/Kiwi born/have Kiwi parents?

The NZ Barbarians Schools lost again. Fiji Schools beat them 15 to 10.
When I first saw the squad lists, I sensed there was something off with the way they select players. Then they lost to the NZ Maori U18s. Now this loss. This confirms it for me. I sure hope the main squad isn't going to lose to Australia Schools on Saturday, or worse, to Australia Schools Barbarians today.
