@Unite totally agree about Baker, what an idiot..no need for that sort of crap..as for Ravouvou...why is he even in this squad..?just an absolute liability ,stocked for Scott Gregory, this kid is going to be a star in the fifteens game..still eligible for NZ20s this year.
He's looking awesome at 7s so far. What position in XVs?
Midfield back/outside back I believe.

As much of a dick as Baker is, I actually don't mind him acting up against this USA team, who have a couple of dickish players themselves (that's two weeks in a row Isles has lost the plot and played shit). I didn't notice Baker acting up against other teams and was pleasantly surprised - plus his experience really showed through this weekend.
-
Good win though.
AB7s looking really good this year. Have looked strong and assured, even in tournaments they've lost, but especially this one.
Really liked the way they took on Fiji. No hanging back looking for gaps, allowing the Fiji D to crowd them, just running straight and hard and pushing them onto the back foot.
Much good.

@booboo Agree with Kiwi Murph, midfield 12 or 13,spoke to Rene Ranger about at the end of the Mitre season about Gregory,.reckons he’s very strong and deceptively quick but will have work on his communication..having met Scott, real down to earth kid.

Yeah, made the comment to Mrs boo that they don't seem to like the Yanks.

Both the Kiwi mens and womens sides looked a cut above on fitness this weekend. That played into good results when the heat (literally) came on in the final day.

Bakers backslap deserved a smack in the mouth (to use the old parlance)
Stoic.
Gracious.
Custodian of The Game.None of these terms would fit that mouthy fluffybunny.
He was also going the dickhead try celebration earlier in the tournament against someone else.
Richie McCaw would tell him to pull his head in.

@Bones yeah something was up. Sam Dickson was pretty fired up too. Bakers backslap deserved a smack in the mouth (to use the old parlance)
Good win.
Those yanks bring a new perspective to 7s, it's good.Well yeah but then you see the cheap shot by Barrett on Dickson as he's scoring the try and you see why it seems not many like the yanks...

Thought Barrett was within his rights to do that. Dickson was pissing around.

He's probably within his rights to do that, but he had zero chance of stopping the try so was really just going for the cheap shot, which makes it borderline dangerous tackle. Anyway I didn't say he wasn't allowed to do that.

@KiwiMurph that's weird eh, Baker reacts as though he spat or he expected him to spit, but you can't see anything and Baker never wipes his face. Could have been just emphasising an insult?
At the time it looked like he spat. Then our boy got led away before he had a chance to retaliate

Being the bridesmaid four times in a row must hurt
At least as an AB fan we'll never know about failing 4 tournaments in a row. Only wish they hadn't canned the RWC for just over a decade in the 90s!

Say it dont spray it?
Spray and walk away?

NZ Womens Sevens team apparently now with 48 consecutive victories and a year unbeaten - that's pretty impressive from being thrashed in last year's Sydney final. Someone has done some serious work on building depth given the star finisher Woodman is injured, Kelly Brazier the playmaker is injured and Nathan-Wong, the other playmaker and kicker missed the final. They didn't skip a beat and all the replacements look like they know their roles so well.
Similar with the men, seems like everyone is injured and yet the guys coming in all look good.

All Blacks 7s squad for the Las Vegas Sevens (1-3 March):
Kurt Baker - Manawatu
Sam Dickson - Canterbury
Scott Gregory - Northland
Trael Joass - Bay of Plenty
Vilimoni Koroi - Otago
Tim Mikkelson - Waikato
Sione Molia - Counties Manukau
Jona Nareki - Otago
Joe Ravouvou - Auckland
Akuila Rokolisoa - Counties Manukau
Tone Ng Shiu - Ta$man
Te Puoho Stephens - Ta$man*
Regan Ware - Taranaki*potential debutant
Injuries to forwards Scott Curry, Dylan Collier, Amanaki Nicole and Luke Masirewa sees Stephens promoted to the All Blacks Sevens squad for the Las Vegas and Vancouver tournaments. “Te Puoho Stephens is a non-contracted player that we have brought in to our group. He has had a good couple of years for Ta$man at the National Sevens and in our development programme this season so it is a great opportunity for him,” said Coach Clark Laidlaw.
Following the Las Vegas tournament the team will travel to Canada for the Vancouver Sevens the following weekend.
