@trooa Haven't seen too much of him so could be an interesting option, i'd rather see the Canes go after someone like Mitchell Dunshea from the Crusaders. He is the type of player that Plumtree loves, a guy that goes to work and leaves the flashy stuff to the backs - a typical Cantabrian workhorse.

@canes4life I have not seen confirmation of the (re-)signing of three players that you list as signed for 2019, or information about their contract duration. Can you tell me where to find this information?
Asafo Aumua
Isaia Walker-Leawere
Sam Henwood -
@stargazer Scroll down in the Canes insta account and they have signed for the 2019 season.
Though I think with Savea, Kirifi, Evans, Prinsep and to some extent Flanders, there is no need for another openside. We probably need another sizeable loose forward like Mikaele Tu'u or Ben Nicholas.
-
@canes4life i'm pretty sure that Mikaele Tu'u signed with the Highlanders but Ben Nichilas looks a good prospect.
-
@daffy-jaffy Yep, Mikaele-Tu'u is signed for 2019.
-
@daffy-jaffy Yeah I think you are right actually. They need to share the love with some of their loosies - Frizzell, Mikaele Tu'u, E Dixon, Squire, Whitelock.
-
@stargazer From the signed list above and if Rayasi's signing is true, the Canes have room for seven more players on their roster.
You would probably say 2 more locks, 3 more props, 1 centre, 1 first five.
-
@canes4life So you guys get Rayasi, Whetton and maybe Renata who was with them for alot of last season, and we get Leni Apasai - sounds fair!
-
@daffy-jaffy Renata is far too old for a Super contract. I wouldn't be suprised if they locked in Lincoln McClutchie as he is the future.
But yeah, Apisai is very average and I feel your pain.

He means Marcel Renata the prop not Trent Renata the 10/15
-
@kiwimurph Oh right, apologies. Yeah he looked fairly promising last year.
By the way, are they related?

From this article it looks like Rayasi hasn't decided what his next move will be so could still wind up anywhere. http://www.clubrugby.co.nz/wellington/story.php?id=2997
