Well I'd just like to thank the Crusaders for using a bit of lube and starting slow before getting down to business. Even giving us a little something at the end.
May I suggest discarding the lube for next week, and giving whoever turns up at AMI Stadium a raping they will never forget.

So why is DMac in the AB matchday 23 and Mounga not?
You'd think the BB/Mounga combination (with BB dropping back to 15) would be better than the BB/DMac combination too.
This is a great point. I think that combo gives us more options and provides potentially better security if BB is crocked
I agree but maybe only because of seeing Mounga in this Super season. He seems to be both the better injury replacement for BB if that happens, but also a pretty good impact replacement if BB drops back to 15 (with a reshuffle in back three depending on who is playing well). Just seems to give more positive options than DMac.

A very soft attempted tackle gets the Canes a consolation try.
Great pass by West!

DMac is there over Mo’unga because several NZ rugby journalists and the AB’s brains trust seem to be blindly in love with the razzle dazzle and “exciting risk taking” of DMac. Which is so amazing that we have to convert him to first five so he can cause even more damag... err... sorry... exciting plays.
Yeah, I’m still sulking about last week.

Can someone explain why BB's too short attempt resulted in a Canes scrum please?
For me it's lost control of the ball in the field of play, knock on Canes.
Should have allowed advantage to Crusaders or scrum feed Crusaders?
Ref said he blew the whistle to stop play so scrum attacking team (Canes).

He is Lima, clearly they don't see him as an impact player. He could shut a game down though
Thats what i dont get. Mounga has a ton of attacking ability and a heap of pace. I dont see why he couldnt be a bench impact player.
The whole perception is reality thing I guess. A bit like how BB was shoehorned as the best impact player in the world a few years back - it seems the selectors see DMac as that man now. They clearly have a plan and they’ll stick with it, as they like to do.

DMac is the RWC2019 Marc Ellis. There to beat up some minnow on a flat track. Please please please lets have BB and Mounga in the first choice 23 for the important games.

Two things.

How the fuck is Fifita an AB? No work rate, no impact and he was walking around like he had been going for 80 mins instead of 5. If i had to pick a Canes loose forward for the ABs it eoukd be Evans.
-
Has a deliberate knock down really jumped from a penalty to an automatic yellow card as the commentators seem to keep suggesting? Or are they talking shit again. Either way im sick of these things. Turning me off the game big time.

Some people are being a little unfair to DMac. He is #2 because he 'won' the position by playing well against the French. Hansen likes players who has done the job for him in the past and he has done that. I don't recall a lot about Marc Ellis but D Mac is no flat track bully. He is one of the best attacking players in the game. He is probably the best player in the world at creating something from nothing. His problem is that he makes glaring errors (interceptions and charge downs). Even when Beauden isn't on form, it's rare he is a liability.
Maybe you lose a game 12-6 with D Mac playing but more often the score isn't going to be close like that when he is out there.

If a deliberate knock down is ever going to be a yellow, Tamanivalu basically had to go. You can dive and catch a rugby ball but he only dived with one out stretched hand. I think a deliberate knock should only be a yellow if it is also a professional foul but that isn't how it has been ruled.

He's a 'special athlete'.
He's not on the plane to Yokohama yet

"I don't recall a lot about Marc Ellis"
All you need to know about Marc Ellis is why is famous from a RWC perspective. He is famous for it due to a similar characteristic he shares with DMac. Not just being an outside back moved inside but he also looks for what is on for himself first because he backs himself (in my opinion). Its both what makes him good and bad (in a team game) at the same time.
