Was at the ground last week - the announcer/DJ didn't seem to actually watch the game for such details...

@pakman Finding his best form right in time for the Mitre 10 Cup
It could all go pear shaped for us and he might play too well and get back into the ABs.

21 - 0 at halftime. Let's see how the Chiefs can do in a second half defensively this week.
Yep, they're definitely not a second half team at the moment!

From Bidwell in the Stuff live scoring:
I wrote about it a while back, when they hired Spencer for next year. Tried to be fair to all sides, while just pointing out how shit the whole thing looked...basically Boyd had a handshake deal to hand over to Plumtree. Then decided it was a great job and he wanted to stay. In whatever role. All of this was made public by the CEO, who then didn't want to talk about it again...the thing dragged on, with Boyd still wanting to hang around, until such point as they had to choose. They'd promised it to Plumtree, when he turned the Highlanders down, and Boyd had to go looking for something else. They've worked hard to keep it cohesive and insist they remain great mates, but the performances suggest things aren't a hundy

Boyd wasn’t in favour of AB’s camp during season, said as much in the press, open criticism of the All Blacks coaching will never get you far. The writing was on the wall far out for the axing of Boyd. Watched them assembled for the flight to Canberra. Talked to Boyd and he seemed like beaten man.
