Won't bother with a new thread. Scotland pull one out of the bag to demolish a lacklustre France, down to 14 men for a whole half.
Williams is a bit of an enigma eh, really like how he runs a game but some pretty poor ignoring of Scottish infringements while harshly punishing France.
He was poor

I would love to know the split? I mean one little bag of coke and a whole lot of the other or was it an Al Pacino time with just the one lady?
-
@sparky At least he didn’t waste his money.

Just been reading a "Where are they now" story of the 2014 England U20 World Cup winners. Out of the match day squad 7 have gone on to play senior International rugby. Oddly though only 3 for England with 2 going on to play for Wales and one each for Ireland and Italy.

Goddammit - I live near Holborn, and I never knew that place existed. And now I see they've shut it down? Worst thing to happen this year.

Judging from this description of a single day/visit...
He paid £3,000 to an account operated by Kristian Kodra, an Albanian gofer at the brothel. On the same day, he made three payments totalling £7,550 to an account held by Romanian madam Alexandra Galis, 22.
I would guess the split was approximately 30% coke - 70% hookers.
Not sure if I agree completely with his priorities, but it's not terrible. -

That is truly amazing. Who would be led by that guy? FFS

Same guy who's insenstive rant got the SRU fined during the RWC

Wasn't quite sure where to put this, here seems as good a place as any.
The Walrus has excelled himself
-
@Catogrande oh good, second is Hernandez, who many would forget about if asked to name Argentina's best first-five.

Him and Barnes are just trying to stay relevant at the moment. Barnes is publish lists which most people would agree with, Jones just publishing his friends and rare Welshies basically. Hernandez he's always rated, pretty much so on club play.
-
@Catogrande I'd never heard of David Watkins before so I looked him up. 5 foot 6 and 65 kilos.
-
@MajorRage walrus just trolling, make stupid judgements, catches more people's attention. Made the headlines here in NZ on stuff and herald. I just ignored
Obvious troll is obvious

Who is David Watkins?
He was by all accounts a bloody good player. Very much in the mercurial mould of Welsh fly halves of the time. However he went North and some bloke called Barry John came and filled in. Quite well as it happened.

Legend.
Double code.
Captained the Lions, played GB league.

Yep. They also rated the 10 best captains which made the local newspapers. The Walrus doesn't rate the GOAT.

Number 10 for the 1966 B&I Lions.
Best known in NZ as the little guy Pinetree ran around to score his legendary try. On 44 seconds below:

@Stargazer Couldn’t see anything on the RFU website

@Catogrande It seems to come from this article, but it's behind a paywayll, so I can't read it.

It's a rumour that had been going around for a few weeks

From a NH coach so posting here
Would be hard to beat
McGeechan's greatest rugby XV:
JPR Williams ( Wales ); John Kirwan ( New Zealand ) Brian O’Driscoll ( Ireland ), Phlippe Sella ( France ), Jonah Lomu ( New Zealand ); Dan Carter ( New Zealand ), Gareth Edwards ( Wales ); Tom Smith ( Scotland ), Sean Fitzpatrick ( New Zealand ), Jason Leonard ( England ); Martin Johnson ( England ), John Eales ( Australia ); Richard Hill ( England ), RIchie McCaw ( New Zealand ), Zinzan Brooke ( New Zealand ) -

He must have been some player if he was a better Fullback than Serge Blanco or Christian Cullen.
I'd pick Maa Nonu and Danie Gerber ahead of his midfield.
Buck Shelford ahead of Zinzan Brooke. Jerome Kaino above Richard Hill. Os Du Randt ahead of Tom Smith.
The rest about right.

Same.
Weird one is Leonard, though. Not even in his strongest position, majority of career as loosehead.
Hill is a bit of a homer to for the target audience of the paper. But he was good. If you asked 50 former greats to pick an all time 15 probably all 50 would pick a different guy at 6, its that kind of position. -
Hill was a weapon. He's in that top bracket I reckon.
Leonard played test rugby for a long time and won a world cup, he doesn't look out of place.

Yeah. But Leonard was categorically never the best THP in the world, at any stage, even in his own era. IMO.
For a few years in the mid 90s you could put a case for him being best LHP.He sticks out like dogs balls to me in an otherwise good team.
-
@sparky Danie Gerber is a very good call. He put the fear of God into us in 1981!
It's a good team, but it's got a bit of a look of making sure there's at least one player from each of the Home Unions - and that's helped squeeze out all of the Saffas.
Here is Gerber cutting up the Irish at 38 seconds.

There's an Irish player applauding him it was that good. Very few players could maintain that sort of balance and pace while weaving. Cullen and JK obviously, with Lomu absurd for a big man.
