I guess I should concede then. Savea is much better at the facet of providing stats with no clear relevancy due to a lack of context.
Obviously relevant to Hansen. But what would he know.
So you don't have the stats nor what level they're from? And now you're saying those are the exact stats that Hansen selects on? Didn't know you had the inside word!
-
@bones OK. Going back to the stats I mentioned before (all from Super level this year)

@bones teams with George Bridge in them seem to function better than teams with Reiko Ioane

If only someone would post that hat recipe I'd be tempted to comment.

@taniwharugby Why are they meaningless? I get they don't tell a full picture as each team plays to different patterns. But Hansen picked Savea again (could well drop him for the Championship) and he didn't pick him based previous form (as he has fuck all). Savea is obviously ticking some boxes that some here simply don't want to acknowledge.
-
I love that we’re all backing Hansen. The same Hansen that won’t play Akira over a guy that played 14 minutes off the bench tonight....
-
@act-crusader Wouldn't be the fern if we couldn't change our reasoning for different players.
-
@taniwharugby And how shit was Cane in the first two French games. He was well below his usual high standard. Maybe his stats could be have been used as an indicator of that performance.
-
@toddy and how shit was Ardie in his minutes too?
JUst showing that stats mean jack shit when you move from Super rugby to INternational rugby, plenty of players look awesome at super rugby (Naholo) but struggle with the next level.

Or that he was straight in after a few weeks out injured for the Chiefs.
Looked underdone.

@taniwharugby Best forward on the park in the 2nd test (though fairly low pickings) and looking likely in the 3rd before his injury.

@toddy agree to disagree, thought he has been all kinds of average for a while at INternational level after his first season when he was genuinely pushing Cane and possibly shoulda been starting, but since, he has fallen away.
I'd actually agree with most of that. I just think that Savea is playing better than he was in 2017 and Todd is not playing as well as he was in 2017.
After all the hype Savea has been a huge letdown overall.

About half the discussion here on an All Black flanker who's not playing in the game.
Phil Kearns would be proud!
Pretty comprehensive second half by the Crusaders. Smothered the Highlanders. First half we looked a bit ring rusty and a few combinations weren't as smooth as they could have been.
I was disappointed to see Moody depart early, because he looked like he might have been about to find his stride and, particularly, I was looking forward to seeing the Crusaders tight five take it to the Highlanders (including the Ta$man young guns). Instead, we got a feature performance from Wyatt instead of a cameo.
A few mistakes from Mo'unga, but overall his good far outweighed his bad. Havili did well under the high ball as the game went on. Mitch Drummond needs further work on his box kicking! HBC needs some work on catching the ball.

Some awesome tries in this game. Mo'unga's was spectacular, BFA's brilliant, and Scott Barrett's came from a fantastic passage of play where forwards seemed to think they were backs.
Good first hit-out from Read. There's hope!
I just would like to know which dipshit took out Crotty without the ball in a late tackle, making Crotts leave the paddock prematurely. I understand he was taken off as a precaution, but still.
Hats off for the Crockzilla, who had to play a 75-minute shift. Hope Moody is okay.
