Marhsall proves once again he doesn't even have a basic knowledge of the laws. How the fuck was he an AB?!
Nah, this is a load of bollocks
You're talking shit man
He was a fucking fine All Black no need to conflate his AB career just because of your precious opinion about mainstream media commentary.

@rocky-rockbottom
That’s a truly shit analysis.
What about McKenzie showing that he is a world class 10?
Won’t he long before he overtakes Barrett -

Don't worry guys, Shannon Frizell is available for next week.
Luke Whitelock
Ardie Savea
Fiftia
Liam SquireAll awful.
What are you talking about? None of them were playing tonight were they?
At this rate I'd be happy if they shifted Sam to 6 and brought Todd in. At least you know you're going to see some guts expressed on the paddock.

He was a fine AB that appears to lack a basic knowledge of the laws. But, he was a halfback, so that probably explains a lot.

I'm sick of this shit.
If it's all about safety then ban jumping for the ball altogether.
If you want to have jumping then don't have different penalties based on where someone lands. It's fucking stupid to have a different result solely due to where someone lands. Just decide if it's yellow or red and make it the same sanction all the time.
Anyway, ABs played shitter against 14 than they probably would have against 15.

When did we start giving away possession with so much kicking early on in the game? We used play rugby with ball in hand, looking for space. The cross kick as our first attacking play?
I actually think that is one of the 'new playbook' things to counter the rush defence. They haven't got it perfect yet in execution or picking the right time but the idea is right. If you can catch the opposition in possession behind the defensive line with every scrambling back the defensive players will start doubting their defensive plan and have one eye on that possibility. It is then a case of recognising when someone has done this and got out of line with the rush to exploit it.
It's nothing new except they are trying to do it at unexpected times to create that doubt.
It certainly looked pre-ordained to me. -

TBF, If he'd put on one of his many AB jerseys and played today he'd probably still be more effective than most of the AB team today.

Really think the answer is in the card system. For 'accidental' offences such as today and with Ofa we need something like an orange card where the offending player is sent off for the duration but can be replaced. edit: after 10 minutes

What a shit game, ruined by the red card.
Just on the card: it was red all day. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't been watching rugby for the last 5 years. Whether it SHOULD be red is a totally different discussion.Just listening to the post game conference and Shag's saying what a lot of people are; except in clear cases of deliberate foul play, make it yellow with automatic citing.
In effect, that's just raising the standard for red cards.
Yes. We know foul play when we see it.
Richard Loe gouging eyes or crushing someone nose, deliberate filth. Send him off.
Someone falling on their head in a contested kick, or fracturing their scull in 2 places while ducking into a double tackle? I, as a rugby 'consumer' don't fucking care. They're grown men voluntarily playing a contact sport . I can accept unwanted outcomes from genuine, or even passably genuine actions.
Find a way to make this sport work.
No matter how many Will Smith movies, BOD almost dieing, and Alistair Campbell's screechng journos who were putty in his hands .
Find a way, because this sport is getting shit.

@crucial yes looked like a plan but either poor plan or poor execution.
I think the plan is good especially the shallow wipers kick to the wing. You can pressure an error or catch him in possession well away from the pack using the sideline as your friend. As long as the opposition feels they had to work hard to get back they will start holding back on the rush.

Worst All Blacks performance in years. Worst captain’s performance too - a nothing.
Whitelock (Samuel) was knackered by last try.
-
So that was shit huh?
Will come back in the morning but I don't recall being as disappointed in an All Black performance since... shit ... I don't know when.
First test v France 94?
Fuck that was awful.
And I'm usually the most optimistic AB fan going.
No excuses. That was shit.

@kev said in All Blacks v France Test #2:
@crucial So poor execution ? given we didn’t find space or place receiver under pressure.
We got it 'right' a couple of times we just played so crappy that after slowing the rush we didn't take advantage.
Basically playing the game moving forward is way better than having to keep going backwards even if you concede possession at times. -
Not the best performance with a lot of players off their best. Bench offered very little as well. Substitutions seemed a little scattergun tonight.
I thought it was a RC offence on normal viewing but was hoping it would only be a YC.
Geez Crotty has some bad luck with his noggin. It didn't look like much in that head knock with Bast but the blood was pouring out big time and he looked groggy. Any word on his HIA?
The Wallabies v Ireland test had more intensity than this one.
