Hurricanes v Reds

24-20 at the break...after starting well, canes seemed to relax and then the Reds actually took the lead.
Tighten up a bit and they will run away with it.
I'm not watching, but reading this it seems like one of those weeks where a team is slightly 'off' in focus. It is understandable and probably desirable (as long as you still bank the points) during a season when you can't be expected to be 'on' for every game.
-
There's a few Wallaby players in decent form this year - Genia, Folau, Beale, Kerevi. They don't have a 10 and their forwards will suck ass, but those blokes should be able to put on a try or two (realise I'm grasping a bit here now that I actually type this).
-
how did Proctor not score there!
-
nice skills there with the ball by Lam.
-
@machpants good strong running for a prop though...not sure HIggers sholda been allowed to get that through the ruck though
-
Good to see Perenara playing deep into the game in his comeback
-
@machpants went super low after seeing NMS pamled off

Based on tonight (and this season really) I don't see how Ardie gets back in. We miss Shields far more than we miss Ardie, especially on defense. I'd expect an AB quality flanker to have really imposed himself on this Reds team by now.
-
@no-quarter even seems to have lost a bit of his spark on attack too
-
I don't mind a penalty for the knock forward, but an automatic card even when you're in the opposition half is harsh.
-
I think the ref is getting confused. Once Umaga-Jensen touches the ball he's fair game to be tackled while trying to regather.
By the laws today that should have been a penalty and a card.

With or without the hip hop music, Matt Todd is better
-
probably the right call in the end there.

You were saying? Haha, bet he finishes strong now.

@no-quarter one spark does always start the fire!
