Saw that in the magazine.
Interesting but confusing.
e.g. Mexico (none) has arrow pointing towards Panama (foreign born)
Argentina (foreign born) has arrow pointing towards Uruguay (foreign born). Shouldn't that be a two way arrow? -
@mikethesnow that means a Mexican born player plays for Panama and an Argentinian born player plays for Uruguay and Argentina have a French born player playing there...?

Fuck knows. Sounds logical but how do you read England and Egypt?

The Golden Generation look like they're heading for bronze
Half-time
Belgium 1 - 0 England -
15 to go and even with Belgium shifting down to 1st gear England just don't look like scoring.
Saying that Belgium should be 3-0 up.
Lukaku was fucking useless and rightly substituted after fluffing two sitters.
Oh that would have been the goal of the tournament from Belgium. Great save from Pickford
-
About time
Great finish from Hazard -
English football has the same problem as English rugby.
Two strong, respected leagues dominated by non-English playmakers.
-
When your Captain and playmaker goes AWOL two matches in a row you have to be ecstatic finishing 4th
-
That's it
2-0 to Belgium. Should have been 4-0. If not 5
Hoddle is a lovely bloke but a dinosaur
'How are we going to develop younger playmakers? Belgium have done it, France have done it, Spain have done it'
Because the Premiership pays for their best to learn and perfect their craft

@mn5 was that cos your Uncle didnt send the cash that he promised?
I hope it turns up soon. I've put a deposit down for an island getaway for every ferner on here. Should be a blast.
Unlimited piss, drugs and hookers all on me. You'll all get a PM invitation shortly. I'm gonna look a bit silly if this doesn't come off.
Sounds heavenly.

I only watched the 30 min highlights but he was bad. I bet Henry was thinking I would have scored those goals in my sleep.

Would Hoddle rather be in the position of Italy or the Netherlands? They can hardly be said to be unable to develop players.
You can't develop great international players. They come along when the come. If Gareth Bale had been born 200 km east England would be looking a lot sweeter.

Are the 10 other English players that much better than their Welsh counterparts?
I don't think so.
And as a consequence a semi-final loss at a major Championship is about right
-
And we're off
France, comfortably in regulation
-
@mikethesnow Gareth Bale was born in the same country as Harry Kane, sport notwithstanding there is no Nation of Wales. He was developed by the English. Yet the system "doesn't develop local players", because their best one happens to be Welsh.
If England and Wales combined, as they actually should under FIFA rules, they would be better. Given that the home nations no longer play each other, which was the reason for separate teams, they should play as GB.
Extrapolating about how good your national system is based on the best 11 players at any one point is idiotic. But especially if you ignore all the other good players that system produces.
