Roooooooooooosterss!!!!!! How farken good! Turned up big time on the night.
Storm had nothing but filth. Munster scum! And Slater just came across as a whiney bitch all night! Glad he played though as no excuses. Just got out played by the a roosters team that were super keen and go there with limited physical involvement from Cronk. Be interesting to hear how his should is today

Betoota Advocate got you covered

Roosters forwards and big backs just ran all over the Storm.
Tough weekend for the Olympic Park precinct with both tenants the Pies and Storm losing grand finals. Love it.

Bit shit to hear about Smith snubbing Cronk in the after match stuff. I know its mutual but Smith was there as Storm capt and how can you not acknowledge that effort... aside from the snide 'good at hiding' comments.
And a broken scapula no less!!
-
@paekakboyz How did he snub him? Cronk is not retiring so why should Smith make special acknowledgement of him?
-
Call me crazy but to not acknowledge Cronks rather special effort was off the mark. In the context of the GF game, not about who's retiring etc.

That was never going to happen ,
You are aware they had a massive fallout as friends off field ?
-
@kiwiinmelb yeah bro. See earlier post 😁
-
From what I’ve heard sounds similar to the fallout between nikau and Barnett years ago in the kiwis .
Involving the wives .

I don't think he needs to acknowledge him over any other player's performance whatsoever.

Nikaus wife had some big issues if I recall, didn’t end well for her either unfortunately..

The "fallout" was between the wives Nikau and Richie Blackmore - Nikau's wife suffered from some serious mental health issues and I think she thought Richie's wife was trying to steal Nikau away.
This fallout between Smith and Cronk sounds like the two were never that close, just workmates.

A rather strong Kiwis squad named:
New Zealand squad
Leeson Ah Mau (St George Illawarra Dragons), Gerard Beale (NZ Warriors), Adam Blair (NZ Warriors), Jesse Bromwich (Melbourne Storm), Kenneath Bromwich (Melbourne Storm), James Fisher-Harris (Penrith Panthers), Corey Harawira-Naera (Penrith Panthers), Jahrome Hughes (Melbourne Storm), Jamayne Isaako (Brisbane Broncos), Shaun Johnson (NZ Warriors), Issac Liu (Sydney Roosters), Joseph Manu (Sydney Roosters), Esan Marsters (Wests Tigers), Ken Maumalo (NZ Warriors), Kodi Nikorima (Brisbane Broncos), Isaiah Papali'i (NZ Warriors), Kevin Proctor (Gold Coast Titans), Jordan Rapana (Canberra Raiders), Brandon Smith (Melbourne Storm), Joseph Tapine (Canberra Raiders), Martin Tapau (Manly Sea Eagles), Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (Sydney Roosters), Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (Penrith Panthers). -
@nepia, as in nothing noteworthy about it (cronk playing) or it just wasn't needed? Actually on retrospect I guess he was on the field but barely played. Maybe I'd be more warranted if Cronk had played a more active role in spite of injury.

they were pretty close ,
But not as close as Smith Slater and Thurston who grew up together , played juniors together etc ,
I heard the new Girlfriend who is a bit of a glamour girl , didnt like Smiths long term missus who is a bit more of your basic down to earth queensland girl ,( been smiths girlfriend since high school ) , they had a disagreement , which got heated. And strained the relationship between Smith and cronk.
Smiths missus refused to go to the wedding , and Cam didnt end up going , and they havent spoken since .

As it he doesn't have to acknowledge him because he played injured - he's an opposition player who probably played when he shouldn't, it's not Smith's job to praise Cronk about that. FYI - I'm no big fan of Smith.
@Sneakdefreak Good pack as usual (with question marks around only one young hooker), decent outside backs and looking dicey in the halves again where Nikorima could be pulled into hooker and Hughes getting big raps from some quarters but as a half was superseded by Croft for Melbourne.
Did Harris get injured again? I can't remember.
Any players you think undeservedly missed out?
