    One hour complete. 13174km at 2:16. Slow as a slow thing but I'm still pushing back in my innards. Last ten was very tough. Everything mentally after 10km was tough.<br />

    I know this doesn't count, but before row: 80.9. After row: 79.7kg......

    Dunno if I'll be doing that again any time soon! I was pleased the second 30mins was faster than my first, despite the wall between 50-60mins.<br />

    I think I could do another 8kms at that pace, if I had too. Might need to take on some fluids around the hour mark to make it though.<br />

    And in a dumbarse move that you will appreciate, I rowed outside and to avoid the stinging of sunscreen sweating into my eyes (like the last 10km row, like it's not hard enough) I wore a hat. But for some reason I wore it backwards, and now I have sunburned a triangle into my forehead. FFS.

    I'm actually starting to feel a bit fit now, certainly feel lighter wandering around (slowly) for my recovery run today. Got around 5km, with 1km of that walking when the calf got tight, relax, then off again...<br />

    Trucking along at 80.3kg, and tonight is cheat night <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> 6.7kg total loss so far.

    Been an excellent week. First week I've trucked around for five cardio sessions (2x5km runs, one hour row and 2x12km cycles), also the first week where every weigh in was under 81kgs.<br />
    <br />
    Two weigh ins after exercise were under 80kg, which is great mentally. And I'm one session off the most cardios in a month, and I have a full week left to add more in. Works out to an average of one every two days.<br />
    <br />
    Weekly weigh in tomorrow, should be a small decrease, fingers crossed.

    And 79.9kg! Seven kg weight loss since the start and my second target achieved. My wife has never seen me this thin, and I think it was 2001 when I was last in the 70s regularly, so a looooong time ago.<br />

    Next target is 77kg, which is the ten kg mark, and from there it will be a short hop to 75kg <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Technically, that's less than 5kgs away now.<br />

    Feel fucking great. Calf still needs to be managed through the runs, but I stretch and massage it as much as I can during the day. No issues for walking, rowing and cycling.

    interesting point our trainer told us a few weeks ago (i might have mentioned it in other threads, not sure), but alcohol will inhibit your bodies capacity to burn fat stores for energy for 72 hours - that is even after just a glass of wine or a single beer. <br />

    So a glass of wine a night while it sounds OK, really isn't IF you're trying to burn fat. If you're not trying to, then go for it! So if you're going to have a drink or two over the week, make it just one night!!<br />

    That's good to know, part of what's made this easier is that I hardly ever drink anymore. That's going to change a little bit while I'm in the states, but it will be only temporary. Don't really miss it either.<br />

    Does the low carb beer make any difference? Bough some of the speights on a while back and found it pretty avg. Not drinking much at the moment (a doz lasts me a month) but always nice to have a quiet 1 or 2 with the rugby on a sat night.

    Sure if you're smashing a half doz a night that makes perfect sense but one ?!?!?! Obviously this depends on what you eat as well, I mean the chronic alchys ( you know, hard liqour in a paper bag, purple noses ) are generally skinny buggers. <br />

    I s'pose your body is busy processing the alcohol and takes a while to switch back to the fats etc! Dunno, but she said one glass of wine or one bottle and your on the 72 hour detox!!

    Big changes bro, well done. Nothing like photo evidence to really illustrate how far you've progressed. We've got a series of pics of the missus and I at various weddings, the usual couples portrait shot. There is one in particular that I never want to revisit, similar situation, double chin et al. Still looked like a handsome devil (ha!) but just a fat one lol!!<br />

    Apart from the aesthetic side of things you must be enjoying the improved fitness as well in day to day life? it's great when you can do a bit of physical work without dying for oxygen or breaking yourself!
