England vs BCs ODI series

If Henry and Fergusson aren't chosen because they can't bowl at the death - WTF is Southee doing in the team?
Heard Simon Hughes podcast last week where he basically went on for 30 minutes about how NZ are never beaten and consistently play above themselves. He ruined his argument by saying Roscoe typified this and effectively described him as an ugly cricketer who did well despite not being much more than a battler.
Well he's certainly shown he's a battler but seriously... I only wish Taylor had got his eye fixed three or four years ago.
Second wish - he plays until he's 40

Fuck it cdg gone
Back in Englandโs favour nowFunny reading these comments now. When CDG was swinging for the fences, the odds were $1.01 to NZ and $26 England. Post wicket it was $1.03 (and $21) and the highest it ever got for rest of the game was only $1.15!
Great game!

That was just a mightily awesome innings from Rossco - potentially career defining.
Pretty much won that game on his own, with a bit of support from Ish Sodhi - and a few other guys who didn't disgrace themselves, but whose names don't warrant mentioning in the same sentence in regard to this match.
Tom Latham - good work.
Tom Latham deserves a tonne of credit for staying with Taylor for so long, That was a heck of a partnership.

I love reading a thread after the fact
It's hilarious. "o ye of little faith" always comes to mind, but years of supporting the "Craps" does that to you. They manage to lose from anywhere and then they do something like that - thank you Ross. Owesome.

Anyone got the number for Waisake Naholo's uncle in Fiji for some special treatment to get Taylor ready for the test series?

"The leaves used by Naholo's uncle, the village doctor, to mend the star rugby winger's fractured fibula are from a plant called kawakawarau, a version of which โ kawakawa - grows abundantly in the New Zealand bush and is still used by Maori healers to treat ailments ranging from rheumatism to gonorrhoea."
Anyone got Rossco's number? I have no comment about the other things Kawakawa may remedy but we need him fit to play.

Handy then if you book a night in with Lisa Lewis

Or Candice Warner according to some.
Actually have to tell myself off for that one, she's probably really nice - just has poor taste in men.

Ross Taylor: KFC and 1984 Penfolds Grange for birthday lunch. Can he do anything better?
-
If we can keep our review for Kane instead of wasting it on a pinch hitter that'll give us a fighting chance.
-
@no-quarter hindsight and all, blessing in disguise?
Things panned out ok no?
-
@bovidae Certainly a major loss, but we really should've won the previous game with Rossco missing (and lost this one) so balancing the ledger a bit.
I'd say Rossco missing makes England favourites between two well-matched teams, but we can certainly overcome that.
England does seem to have worked Munro out, though.

Beautiful day in Chch, a bit chilly currently but no rain by the looks. Stuff reporting The Moral Captain ruled out so Chapman better come right quickly. And Munro. Fuck.
Note to BCs top and middle order batsmen not named Guptill or Kane
England win the toss and put us into bat
