Atu Moli - though I guess he was an apprentice - one who played.

@kiwimurph said in AB Positions up for grabs:

Halfbacks Brad Weber and Augustine Pulu have been overlooked.

So the only halfbacks invited to either the SI or NI camps are Aaron Smith, TJ Perenara and Mitchell Drummond.

@bovidae said in AB Positions up for grabs:

    No Harris?

And the hookers who have been invited thus far: Aumua, Coles, Coltman and Taylor
(edited to add that I assume Coltman is only there because of Coles still being injured, but it's significant that he seems to have been picked ahead of Harris).

    Early signs?

Makes sense given their last performances, injury not withstanding.

@tim It would make sense IMO.

What I don't understand is why NZR can't be bothered to publish the full lists themselves.

Captaincy in the absence of Read ... my pick would be Sam Whitelock.

Another one-day SI All Blacks camp in Chch tomorrow.

This article only mentions the Highlanders going into camp:
Ben Smith, Aaron Smith, Waisake Naholo, Liam Squire, Dillon Hunt, Luke Whitelock and Liam Coltman

No surprises; same list as last time.

@tim I'd go along with what he actually said... Not what the headline said he said.

@bones my guess is the headline writer and the article writer are different people, with the headline person not paying alot of attention to the article...I mean the first line would make you think the writer wanted the headline to be something more like:

"Personally, I think he's the best centre in New Zealand"

@tim kinda expecting to not see anymore of Coles, and while Read is a big part of the ABs, this will be a great opportunity for us to see someone else there.

    @hooroo

Hooker Dane Coles is also yet to make a return in 2018 due to an operation following a ruptured ACL (knee) ligament.
"Dane is having a few problems with his knee too - he can't seem to straighten it," Hansen said. "He's gone back to the surgeon and the surgeon has put him back in a brace at night to try to help him get full extension.
"Once that happens he'll make progress pretty quickly. He is unlikely to be available for June."
