Black Caps vs Pakistan Series

Unfortunately the new software doesn't merge ... you can split topics but for some reason there's no merge function.
So I'll quote your post and lock that one

I thought that since the muppet show have been, dealt to and now gone, we best start a new thread for what is sure to be a more exciting series against Pakistan.
Expect an XV of something like:
Guptill
Munro
Kane
Taylor
Latham
Nicholls
Santner
Astle/Henry (depending on pitch conditions)
Southee
Ferguson
BoultLooking forward to it. Will be interesting to see how we do with both bat and ball as we won't have it all our own way like we did against the Windies.
What is the weather doing down there?

Amir is quick. Would be pushing 150 with Aus radars. Batsmen going to have to work harder this series.

@Gunner BTW I think you mean an XI ...
Talk to me about Astle folks. I'm a fan of Ish Sodhi. What's Astle got that Ish doesn't?
I'm a fan of Ish as well. Astle has performed though so pretty tough to drop, and offers more with the bat I think.

Further to this. Great to see an ODI at the basin. Better a full basin than a 25% ( even this might be generous ) full Cake tin.
Looks like a 25%full basin. ..

the rest are somewhere over the Cook Straight and heading south

I suspect it's been mentioned previously but the Pakis do seem to have a disproportionately high number of left arm seamers over the years.
All the way back as far as I can remember to Safraz Nawaz and Azeem Hafeez (or Hafeez Ahmoff as Billy Birmingham dubbed him).

Hows the deck?
What sort of score are the comms predicting?
Very early days, but just looking at he scoreboard alone so far, I'd guess 320 might be on?
Munro seeming to want to push in that direction 4 4 6 ...

Took a wee diversion to Statsguru.
A list of all ODI left arm pace bowlers shows:
- Pakiatan 20 of 102 total pace bowlers (19.6%)
- World 123 of 1204 total (10.2%)
So basically double.

That was an awesome innings from Munro. Got the run rate going against a decent attack, which takes pressure off Guppy and Kane.

Nice shots from Guppy

Guppy and Kane reaping the benefits of Munro's innings. 149/1 after 26 with these two now finding their timing.
