Black Caps vs Windies Series

@hooroo there didn't seem to be any issues last year was there, and wasn't there more money on offer as well?
But that's a great idea, top stuff

Both the Ferald and Stuffs calling for changes ...

( @taniwharugby appears it was 2015 when they did the last one. Was still potentially dangerous then. Think it's a terrible look.)
-
@hooroo I'd say those "mosh pits" will be the way this will go. Rutherford started talking about "Health and Safety" last night, so any blind eyes that were being turned will likely now be opened.
A pretty successful marketing tool, especially when the only people in the BoP who can catch a ball are too cheap to buy a T shirt.
$25 per shirt - they need to sell 2000 to meet the cost of each successful catch. They look to be a fair way towards that judging by the amount of orange in the crowd - and after that they've got all these Tui billboards wandering around town.
-
@booboo I just don't recall any issues like there seem now for whatever reason (not saying it was without problems, just this seems a hot topic) but yep Health & Safety will win the day.
@Chris-B there is a guy that lives up the road from me uses his old Tui one to mow his lawns in, and I see the odd one about elsewhere.

Balmain Tigers-like shirt this year attracted a dumber and more unco competitor ......

It's more dangerous when it goes to the embankment, as people's movement is not restricted by the seats. Meaning they end up diving and falling all over each other and anyone else that happens to be in the way. Bay Oval is nothing but embankment which is why it got messy there, if it goes into the stands then it's not such a problem as people are less willing to dive.
I think it's a cool idea but it doesn't work very well in practice as it gets dangerous especially for kids. Agree with @Hooroo if a fat drunk guy landed on my boy I wouldn't hold back.
-
Catch a million is a stupid promotion. Completely non family friendly.
-
We had small kids in our group so deliberately sat at the very top of the embankment to avoid the potential for six hitting Tui carnage.
I remember it being talked about the last time they did the promotion, itβs just this time theyβve started it at grounds where there is even more room for people to charge over the top of others.
A large bloke after a few beers and wearing a Tui shirt may not be too concerned about who is around them if they see the potential for 50k coming their way...

How does Munro get enough on those mishits to get yhem for 6?
Modern cricket bats and small NZ grounds play a big part.
Bay Oval is not small at all.
According to Rutherford, though, it is unlikely to get cricket tests because there is already a test venue in the province - in Hamilton.

Well if a Sky commentator says so... if must be true.
I have talked to people far more in the know than him about ND match allocations and he is off base.....way off base.Happy to take a bet on Bay Oval getting a test in the next 3 years.
-
A bet - that the Bay Oval in the Waikato won't get a test?!!!

Que?

I think @Chris-B has missed that Rutherford is referring to ND as the cricket province
You're right - and the joke becomes a lot less amusing.
I guess I just never think of CD as being a "province" - nor Ta$man for that matter.
