No paddles or Bond in there but as a pack they compliment each other perfectlyDifferent ways of balancing an attack but much of Hadlee's success was helped by Chatfield. I wonder how Boult would go with a Chats drying up one end instead of Southee's erracticness.
As good as they are none of them are a patch on paddles but as @Virgil said it's pretty hard to think of a better trio. Shame Bracewell has gone off the rails for whatever reason.

Boult, Southee and Wagner are ranked 6,12 and 4 on the all time NZ averages.
In 1973 we had a lineup of Hadlle, Collinge, Bruce Taylor (supported by Dayle Hadlee and Congdon). Hadlee was only starting out but on the all-time list these guys are ranked 2, 7 and 3
Nash, Doull and Cairns are up there when you look at it this way as well. 5,8 and 9
Just a shame that Bond never had any backup.

Yeah - part of the complexity of that stat is that the strongest teams are usually dominating the game, so usually only have a handful of runs to knock off if they're batting 4th. Weaker teams often getting set big totals because they've failed in the first innings and are set to fail again.
Like a lot of big stats in cricket, you've got to be presented with an opportunity. Still surprising to me how few scores there are over 400 in the 4th innings though (just 20 out of nearly 2300 tests).

Not following you there? These are the highest chases so the over 300's, etc in the fourth innings and a lot of them won the game with only 4 or 5 down. As I said how many more would they have made if the match wasn't over?
So yes, agree that stats don't tell the whole story about run chases. Time remaining is also a factor that isn't covered in the stats.

There's always a chance of extraordinary things happening in cricket.
I saw a Sri Lankan team that's barely won an ODI this year humiliate the Indian top order this week.
Sadly Dhoni saved them from the complete annihilation that was pending at 29/7.Edit: But, I doubt there's anyone - even in the Caribbean - optimistic enough to be putting even a dollar on the Windies.

First fast lefty for NZ to take 200 wickets?Yep I believe so. Great effort. He got their only remaining semi decent player as well ( I use that term rather loosely ). Only 398 to get with seven wickets in hand. Actually Chase has useful stats and a very appropriate name....
Doull has always been good value for good quality humour combined with genuine cricket knowledge.
