NBL: Breakers and stuff
-
He’s had the knee and heel issues over the last couple of seasons, but the little I saw him play last season he actually was pretty effective. He’s got that hook shot down and is still a very good rebounder.
He could bring a bit of toughness to the Breakers if the owners can pull it off.

First the Breakers signed rising Chinese NBA Global Academy star Terry Li, and now the new coach and assistant coach confirmed, along with American 6'7" shooting guard Scotty Hopson.
-
@canefan Boucher is still there as he met Shamir at the airport a few weeks back. It's just a restructuring of the coaching setup but Shamir is the coach.
**A club review identified a need for better internal cohesion between the SKY Sport Breakers high-performance staff and the executive team. As a result, a new executive position of Director of Basketball has been created and filled by Israeli Dan Shamir who has arrived in New Zealand with an impressive international resume. SKY Sport Breakers owner Matt Walsh is delighted Shamir has accepted the position. "Dan brings with him experience coaching at the highest levels and knowledge of best practices for top-level basketball organisations and his experience is already being felt throughout the organisation”.
As the Director of Basketball, Dan will play an integral role in the Breakers on and off-court performance. The new structure has resulted in Head Coach Kevin Braswell leaving the club last month. The SKY Sport Breakers thanked Braswell for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role and wish him success in the future.**

Interesting signing of Hopson. He’ll give us some scoring and rebounding from the guard/small forward position.
-
The Breakers roster is complete. Now we wait to see what impact Shamir has.
-
@canefan Yes. From the NBL website. I have bolded those on the 2018-19 roster.

you can have Rob Loe, i got reeeeaaallll sick of watching him jack up brick after brick last season. A massive bust.
The Taipans do not yet have a team. We are two spots light. The players we do have are very underwhelming. One of our recruits turned up, took a look around, and promptly retired.
I look forward to Melo torching us for 40 when he comes up, that won't hurt at all.
You may be looking at the first death throws of the Taipans (not that head office will give a shit)
-
@mariner4life Loe is a stretch forward so that is his role. His 3pt % at the Taipans was a little lower (31 vs 35%) than the 2 previous seasons at the NZB.
It appears all 3 centres on the Breakers offer something different.
