Fantastic work from the starting backline. Roe has an amazing skill-set that sparks so many opportunities. Back 3 look very useful Not quite so good from the forwards or the subs. But, Christie and Tucker looked pretty good. One expects a reinforced pack for the tougher games.

Great win for Wales, but fear neither they nor Australia will proceed.

Overall good performance first up. form 60min on things went to crap with wet conditions and subs.
players who have cemented their place in starting lineup imo
Nuimia-added solid aspect to f/r from Oceania torny
Jackson-Full of energy
Florence-tough on D, lots of work at breakdown and lineout.
Christie- Not sure he will make it to next level, but outstanding as 7 at this level.
Flanders-Didn't play but it was noticed, will make up back three with other two lossies from today.
Roe-MOM, was outstanding and has come from 3/4th option at start of the year.
Backs-The rest of the back look pretty good and I think whoever you put in will do the business. prob Faingaanuku a lock. Trask in their, maybe at expense of Koroi at 15? Trask is good and more settled but Koroi will break game open more. also impressed by Spowart and his progression. -
@machpantS For me lots of no-calls, mainly against NZ. I feel that during this tournament that call will go against someone in a big way as consistency will be a key. I think the no-calls were more for the fact that we were bigger so they felt no need to call it, but if the shoe was on the other foot I feel we could be done....maybe

Also watched Wales vs Aussie. Aussie were disappointing! Big issue from Oceanias is 4 players stayed back for super rugby.
Wales looked ok but wld be massively surprised if we lost. They got smashed y Aussies at set piece so won't dominate us there.
Welsh backs, mainly 12/13 look ok but our backs are a class above theirs. If we get go forward and get to edges our back three will cause huge problems I think. We also shld dominate them in tackle.
Big issue will be discipline and weather, their 10 kicked 16 points incl some from 50+
Wld go with same f/r v Japan
Mcwhannell n akua'ola
Chritie, Florence Flanders
Roe n Plummer
Telea'a n Sullivan
Clarke Fiaanganuku traskProctor Koroi on bench for impact with Sotutu Tucker

Noted how big the Baby Blacks backs are.
Seem much bigger than normal years.
E.g. Last saw Baily Sullivan probably on a First XV rugby telecast about 2 years ago, when IIRC he was a normal looking rangy teenager.
Last saw Vilimoni Koroi playing for Fielding Ag as a small cheeky chappy fullback. He now looks big.
