Hanigan
what's this guy doing in a national team? He's too shit for Super Rugby IMO
FIIK.
Get Dempsey on. He's a right fluffybunny.
-
But it should not be enough to wipe the memory of that awful first half.
I wonder - if you'd put bets on Argentina HT / Opponent FT and Opponent win 20+ the last two weeks...
One thing is for sure: a single Super team is not helping Argentina build bench depth.
-
How bad is that Argies attack? It lacks any sort of structure and any quick ball is stifled by poor organisation or slow realigning. Looks like they lack fitness or are unable to deal with the travel.
Aussies were pretty good.
-
As we saw last week it's pretty difficult to blow Argentina off the park in the first 40, they're a phsyical side and they defend well.
Credit to the Wallabies, they kept their heads and ran away with it easily in the 2nd 40 - a good win for them.
-
@Rapido I know you're being a little facetious but Lacey wasn't too bad. A couple of times he let players crawl on the deck. He missed a couple of neck tackles. One of the scrums was called our way that should not have been imho.
Mostly though, he reffed in a very NH style i.e. don't call too many ruck penalties; let the players sort it out and if it is a mess, so be it.

Summary from another forum:
-
Hanigan needs another season of Super Rugby, to work on his impact and accuracy. Get Brad Thorn to help him work on that as I've been quite impressed with his coaching at QLD Country (NRC) - always see their guys take that "power step" into contact zone and it pays dividends.
-
Replace him with Dempsey for the game in RSA - we're not going to out-beast the Boks, so better we just out-fluffybunny them. A backrow of Dempsey, Hooper, and McMahon is about as fucking annoying a thing I could think of from a Wallaby opponent pov.
-
Speight continues to be the shittiest top-line winger we have for defensive positioning. Ponies fans can talk about his attack all they want, but he gets caught shooting inward too often for Test rugby.
-
Rodda is looking the goods. His combination in the second row was a big contributor to our late-game scrum dominance, along with the Pumas replacements being ordinary. More on that in a minute. The other thing about Rodda is that he gets stuck into the work a good donkey should: cleaning out, putting pricks on the deck, and not doing anything too ambitious for a second rower's limited brain power.
-
Uelese has been solid in both his appearances. Temperament looks good, and he's got that young, puissant man's complete lack of fear. Snaffled an important turnover when we were farting around early in the second half, and ran hard all day. How much must he love having TPN as a mentor in camp?
-
Creevy must have gotten sick of the sight of Coleman belting six shades of shit out of him. it seemed like, every time he got the ball, Coleman was there to hit him. Magic.
-
McMahon and Hooper are so deadly together, and just need a better 6 (Dempsey, as I said, so you know its the truth) to help balance that back row so the tight five can do what they need to do.
-
The backline was a bit quiet IMHO, with the odd flash of brilliance but not enough consistency. Hard to overshadow that back row performance.
-
FUCK Canberra. Bitch, bitch, moan moan. We're the most successful Aussie province and never get a Test match. You got one, you fucked it up. The end.

@NTA Good summary. I think Hodge is a good option on the wing for now. Hes big , fast enough, big boot. Young Mortlock started on the wing too. Koroibete looked lively but he also has defensive issues. Once naivalu comes back he needs to go on the wing to replace Speight.
Foley was a bit shit - and has been for a while. There is really no one else right now.
That was Hoopers best game for a long time - really got stuck in and did the work of a 7.
Agreed with Canberra - wtf is going on there - so many empty seats and looked like a decent enough night.
Some great defense on their own line from the Wallabies. Big steps continue from Syd showing (admittedly Argie arent great).
