It might not be the best preparation for the Rugby champ etc
Australia are playing France and SA the. British lions.
It might give us some false answers to some selection issues playing the pacific teams. In a year that the B&I Lions tour someone gets France and the other two SANZAAR teams get the rest. In 2017, France toured SA, an understrength England toured Arg while Aust hosted Fiji, Scotland and Italy.
Bad timing for us then after last years efforts under the present coaches.

World Rugby and national unions have agreed a revised July test schedule. According to the media release and schedule, the All Blacks will play the following tests:
- 10 July 2021: NZ v Fiji
- 17 July 2021: NZ v Fiji
No mention of a NZ v Samoa match (yet), but interestingly the Oceania 1 RWC2023 qualifiers between Samoa and Tonga are played on the same dates as NZ v Fiji and according to the World Rugby media release, they will be played in New Zealand, so possibly as curtain raisers?
If NZ plays another test against Samoa, maybe Fiji will play Tonga?

Now it's Tonga, and not Samoa ...
1 NEWS can reveal New Zealand Rugby is in discussions about a fixture against Tonga on July 3 with Mount Smart Stadium and Waikato Stadium being considered to host the Test. Meanwhile, Samoa are eyeing a potential clash with the Māori All Blacks on the same date, creating an opportunity for a mouth-watering double-header.

i'd love to see an AB game in Fiji, Samoa, or Tonga. Maybe one day/year...

Hamilton has a decent stadium that is fit for purpose

The test I went to in Napier was notable for 3 things:
(1) The debut of Christian Cullen (and Scott McLeod).
(2) The first test played under lights in New Zealand.
(3) The first test played outside the four main centres. So AB tests have only been hosted outside the traditional main centres in the last 25 years. The ABs played Fiji in Albany, and Argentina in Hamilton the following year (1997).
-
I've no doubt that the ABs test matches this year will go to the main centres, because they'll want as much revenue as possible and they'll expect to be able to sell out the bigger stadiums. But if there's also a Māori All Blacks game, or All Blacks XV etc, it should IMO go to a stadium outside the main centres (not Rotorua again). Napier and Whangārei should be prime candidates (Albany already gets the women's RWC). Maybe for All Blacks XV also consider Chch, which won't get a proper test until their new stadium is ready.
