Initially it seemed his bluster was deflection to get people not looking at his inefficies as a coach but I think he does believe the shit he is spouting.
Sure he has passion but not sure he is good for Aussie, even if his public whinging face is completely different to the one behind closed doors...but I expect his angry passionate outbursts are not just for the camera.
And how fucked is that?
For those that want genuine competition for the sake of rugby - not good.
For those that love watching the ABs spanking the wallabies over and over again - great.
Of course - today... I'm not sure how that fits in to that "narrative"... how did a team coached by that, nearly beat us?The puppet managed to coach a team that beat us three times in 2009 including beating us at home. He was a fuckwit of monumental porportions too.
But he was just an idiot.

I noticed he doesn't refer to us as the ABs. He doesn't realise he's in full aura mode
I noticed in Hansen's onfield interview that he called us "Australia" and not "The Wallabies".
So is that a thing or does he call us The Wallabies at other times?
It's because of your aura.

Watching the game now , Aussie scrum reminds me of the era where they considered Matt Dunning a test level prop.
Cheika is close to surpassing Woodward as most fuckwitted coach of the pro era , well done to him for having edged past Scott Johnson and Warren Gatland.
Owens not his usual self tonight.
DMac and SBW weak links so far.
I disagree entirely. He's way past Woodward level.
We haven't had a PowerPoint presentation yet explaining why the all blacks are cheats.

Stupid, stupid play from Hooper. Insane.
What option did he have?
Not charging around and conceding a penalty. Line up the next play and try and tackle someone?
After the buzzer. Riiiiiight...
It was before the buzzer. It won't get you there...
ABs fell over the line there. Played poorly, Wobs played really well and took their chances. Good game of footy.
I don't think Aus played well at all
Really?
Apart from losing what did they do poorly?
They tackled better than us.
They had no ball but still took the lead with 3 to go
One bloke missed some kicks
They won all their lineout ball
Sure scrum was monstered but they responded to stop the haemoragingAnti Stockholm syndrome?
They were basically dominated. Created little except on turnover. Were incredibly lucky to be in touch on the score board despite fluking the luckiest 17 point lead ever. Thus the perception is they played well. 35-12 in the last 60 minutes. 3 unawarded tries. Add it up. It's not as good as the perception based on 35-29.

It's pretty cool for kiwis to hate Aussie sportsmen for the sake of it. A lot of it is unjustified.
Not with Cheika though. What a graceless fuckhead of Brad Haddin like proportions. I genuinely enjoy seeing him lose.

They missed 32 tackles and we only missed 14. Australia were more clinical than us - especially in the second half.
The big difference for Australia was how good they looked when they had Genia giving them front foot ball. An in-form Genia is crucial to that team.

what was the final handling error/turnover count, at about 65 mins I think the graphic showed 18 to us and 9 to them.

Turnovers conceded:
NZ 18, Oz 9They don't seem to publish stats of handling errors.

I think there were some ref issues, but they tend to balance out a bit, I don't think it was a great performance from Owens - but it wasn't a French switch off the mike and then change decision type performance.
It's funny reading this thread and seeing the comments on Rieko - seriously, how have people only just now figured out how good he is?
The scrum before the Genia try I was thinking we might have got the penalty for the 8 reaching in and pulling the ball out from under the locks feet - I thought that was illegal. Also, there was another dominant scrum where the ball spilled out the side and it was allowed to play on - luckily it turned into a turnover for us. I don't think we got the rewards we deserved for our scrum dominance.
@Rapido I don't think the refs should change the way they make decisions because it's the last play of the day. At every ruck the refs say play it and then the 9 has time to play it before the defenders can come round. Why change it for the last play of the game?
Maybe SBW should have been stood down for this match, he didn't seem 100% from the get go but then again our midfielders seem to be half broken all the time. Crotty can't get through 60 minutes of rugby without getting two injuries and a knock to the head.
I think the Wallabies (there you go @NTA) rode their luck really well in the first half and were deserved of their lead, but I always had the belief we'd pull them back (their final two tries I didn't expect though) once we got going and that proved to be the case.
I think BBBR should have got a yellow for the off the ball hit on Hooper (although there really should be a free hit on Hooper similar to the free hit on Gopperth back in his Canes days ;)) but the correct decision was made on the ruck. You could clearly see the players were tangled on the first shot which wasn't actually replayed by the TMO. Hooper carried on like a goose over that but what do you expect when you have an idiot like Cheika in charge.

I can't even spell his name. He's 5 tests into his career, he's been playing Super rugby, he was an age grade star ... I just find it weird that certain posters are just cottoning on to how good he is now, I have no insight, but have watched him play.
Anyway, weird thing for you two to get your knickers in a twist about.
-
I just watched the presser with Cheika and Hooper, and I don't know what the fuss is about.
The incident with Retallick and Hooper was obviously something he was incensed with, however throughout the rest of the presser he was articulate and even jovial at points.
The main thing he pointed out was the little decisions that didn't go our way that could have switched momentum. Gave the example of a DHP knock-on that was called versus the Barrett knock-on that wasn't, and could potentially have been a penalty to us with Perenara grabbing the ball after it bounced from an offside position.
But he said clearly that not shutting the game out with 3 minutes to go was all on us.

I think everyone knew he had the talent but plenty of players aren't able to convert that talent. What makes Ioane a bit special is that every time he touches the ball he looks like making ground and a lot of it is through guile. Most impressive is that Ioane made the right decision almost every time last night in regards to whether to step inside or pass it out. There was one situation in the second half where he caught a kick, hesitated, ran it out and threw a shocker. Apart from that his decision making was perfect. I don't think we can say that about Naholo or Jules recently.

He probably should have realised in regards to the offside penalty that Australia received a penalty 20 seconds later which they later scored from. Hard to see how that decision made a difference.
