@jegga I still can't see much in the Naholo incident that would warrant SOB taking an enforced break.

What I can't believe after watching the replay is some fans trying to minimise Vunipola's actions. He was't clearing out a player in the ruck. He was clearing out a player who was already out of the ruck and he was damn lucky that his tucked right arm didn't connect with Barrett's head.

The Naholo incident didn't seem like a red to me either. Vunipola was closer imho.

Really looking forward to next weeks game now, doubt I would have given a fuck to be honest if we had of won last night.

Yep, definitely adds some spice to the series. I can see a 1993 style touching up of the Lions next week TBH. Or a 2005 second test version.

The ABs will spend the week fuming.

@Nepia almost agree but accidental doesn't matter nowadays. Contact to head with swinging arm resulting in concussion and player leaving the field. O'Brien is a wonderful player and clean as but shit happens and the rules are about cleaning up technique as much as dirty play

I actually can't see the swinging arm. Of four of us watching together last night, 2 could see the arm and 2 couldn't - we need a Green and Gold style breakdown ....

@Kruse I'm for a red card. It was an forearm to the head even if the head wasn't first contact. Coming son soon after the debateable penalty for the "late charge" that it is very hard to to not see it as Vunipola getting BB back for milking.

I'm not sure how if SBW gets a red for a shoulder to the head that does no damage a forearm to the head gets anything less.

@Tim so likely has failed as potentially 11 minutes to go if he passes test.

First of all congrats to the Lions and their fans. It's been 14 long seasons since the ABs last lost at home, and to do it against the odds after being touched up in the first test is an incredible effort.

Great post. Being pedantic and all the ABs last home loss was in 2009.

    @KiwiMurph

Correct, the 14 years stat is probably getting mixed up with the 14 years since losing in Wellington

I've already watched all the clips over there, they're too scatterbrained at the moment. Although the French have posted good videos of the incidents on Youtube. I guess they want to see how their star refs go on the tour.

I wouldn't go over there for a while , Kid A must have an old fellow like Ray Charles elbow when he tried roller skating by now.

Wyatt Crockett's first home test loss and second ever - not bad for 60+ tests.

Hansen needs get really angry about this, I mean it is clearly a personal attack on him, in retaliation to him getting the Herald to post the clown pic of Gats.

UK tabloid The Sun has hit back after the All Blacks' shock 24-21 loss to the Lions by depicting coach Steve Hansen as a clown.

The retort comes after the Herald caricatured Lions coach Warren Gatland as a clown following their first test defeat to the All Blacks at Eden Park last weekend.

The Sun's image shows Gatland throwing a pie into the face of a red-nosed Hansen in a clown outfit with the headline "CLOWN JEWELS".

Considering pro NZ media have put out videos implying Hansen was sexually infatuated with one of the Hanson brothers this attack will likely fall flat.

One of the foibles that comes with having a sense of humour about yourself.

Not sure if anyone has even bothered to read that article, but this is interesting:

Hansen said Naholo could have returned to the field, but the All Blacks coach opted not to risk him.

The serious point is that the [accidental] SOB forearm concussed Naholo, he had to leave the field and the AB's makeshift backline defence was rejigged again, a change which we never recovered from.
In contrast, SBW shot, whilst a clear red, made no difference to Lions.
In scenarios where either (i) Naholo unconcussed or (ii) SOB RC IMHO ABs win.
That said, in any event it won't make a difference to series result.
Expect SOB to miss third, which is not great for rugby fans.
