I just took the kids to see Shaun the Sheep. I laughed out loud more than i have in any recent adult comedy.

My old man - being a farmer and shearer most of his life - laughed his arse off at that show. He discovered it watching with my kids one time.

Mum said that from that point on, while they were out being Grey Nomads, he would always make sure ABC was tuned in as a priority once they pulled up somewhere in the caravan, to ensure he had News, Weather, and Shaun the Sheep

It's a funny show. The episode where the sheep try to run the farm is hilarious

The Kite Runner - really good storytelling & cinematography crossing from modern America to pre-Taliban/Russian invasion Afghanistan and Pakistan and back. I will admit I'm glad the hero got the shit kicked out of him as an adult near the end for being such an asshole, cowardly kid.

Begin Again - enjoyed this. Sweet romcom/drama based around the music industry in discovery of a talent and creation of a live album. Keira Knightley & Mark Ruffalo are great. Even Adam Levine was pretty good as the jerk boyfriend.

At the risk of having my masculinity question again in this place, I too enjoyed this film. Interestingly it was made by the people who made the film Once. I hated Once, I couldn't stand the song and didn't warm to the characters yet everyone else in the world seemed to love it.

Anyway I thought Knightly was really good, she can act these days. What a surprise that Levine could play a jerk boyfriend ;).

TBH, it wasn't really too much of a romcom - not Katherine Hiegel type movie at any rate.

I went and watched Furious 7. That movie is just relentless. Action set piece after action set piece (worth seeing in the cinema IMO). Totally preposterous, of course. And you just have to laugh at some of the dialogue and plot jumps, but I just enjoyed the ride.

They lay it on pretty thick at the end regarding Paul Walker, but I liked it.

Putting Katherine Heigl and rom coms in the same sentence is a grievous insult to all rom coms. She doesn't appear in that glorious genre, more horror, I'd say, playing a series of neurotic psychos who lure idiot men to their doom with a cute BFF, then torture them with grating shrieks and incomprehensible dialogue until they surrender, a hollow shell of their former selves.

In romcom world, KH is she of whom we do not speak. There must be a guy equivalent - someone who plays the same role over and over and is so bad you wonder who is being blackmailed to green light the shit arse movies.

I think you are the only one who has defended him, ever 😉

In saying that, I hold out hope he might do a good one one day, unlike one of his recent expoits, The Dying of the Light or something, which was utter shite!

Probably because this place went all feral and decided that Face Off, The Rock, and Leaving Las Vegas were shit as well.

At any rate, I think the last movie I saw him in was Kick Ass so you seem to be in a better place to judge his recent performances than me. :)

And have to agree re Nic Cage. Hard to believe how far that dude has fallen with scripts. Ditto for Adam Sandler. He must have dirt on half the execs in Hollywood.

:) I think I best stop now while I'm um ... ahead?

Regarding Sandler, apparently he's all about work life balance now and his films all make money. So he gets a budget, hires his mates, they go make a movie, it makes money, he gets a share of the profits.

I don't get the Renner thing either, and the Hurt Locker which shot him to prominence was overrated. TBF, I think he can be ok in supporting roles because unlike Worthington (Titans) he can actually act.

Sandler also (part?) owns a production company too doesnt he? Happy Madison or something that most of his movies are done through which is why he and all his mates are in them.

Was always gonna be downhill after Happy Gilmore!

Worthington will have to stay on the stage to keep Ms Bingle in the style to which she's accustomed. And little Rocket Zot.

(On a side note, I have a great deal of sympathy for the offspring of people like these two clowns. I hope the wee boy can get to the deed poll office before he's too traumatised.)
