@Bones I dont recall any bitching of the ref in our last loss vs the Canes? A lot of talk about how awesome Beauden was (rightly so)
Yep correct. We may come last in the conference every year, but our fans are very gracious in defeat and even more humble in victory.
Ha ha ha. Fucking good one man.
Either you're 12 or you weren't into rugby when Auckland were good

@African-Monkey to the extent of blues fans, every week and every loss? Methinks not. Remarkable difference between blues threads and other NZ teams when the blues lose. Check the Crusaders-Chiefs thread...
The kiwi equivalent of Reds fans

@Crazy-Horse That's because they all left! Now there is only ACTC, that guy from Nelson, and stargazer.
-
@Crazy-Horse Cheers - anecdotal memory led me to suspect as much, but good to know the numbers support it.

@Kruse I just completed an analysis and the results point to Crusaders fans being the most level headed, unbiased, least ref whinging fans on here. Who would have thought?
Yup wonderful fans, and just great people in general are those mighty Crusaders fans. A credit not only to the Canterbury region, but NZ in general.

I was leaning towards Irish...

Blues lose, blues fans whinge and blame ref. Quelle surprise!
Funny the people whinging about Treeby not being carded are remarkably quiet on Ofa not seeing a card...
I think we remained quiet on Ofa not getting carded because it was balanced by the stormers player not getting carded for the tackle on pulu.. both similar and we had no complaints..
Treeby is a card every day of the week.. and every day of 2017 should've been a red.. unless ur playing in Wales against the All Blacks (was it Powell on McCaw? Can't remember)
Treeby getting red carded at that point would've put the game in the Blues favour..
Instead of the stormers losing a player, the Blues lost Francis and had to settle for Gatland sending hospital passes all night..It didn't help that our bench got monstered in the set piece as well..

For me the Duffie yellows were both erroneous. And there's something plain wrong were a yellow for a non-yellow offence (i.e. a repeated foul team offence' can be turned into a red by an individual yellow. Think the ref realised his blue and was overenthusiastic with Etzebeth for handbagging. Having rewatched Treeby for me a yellow. Seems quite likely that Francis's head hitting the SA turf knocked him out.
Final try was a penalty to Blues for handling in ruck, albeit I seem to recall there was an existing penalty advantage to Stormers. And Duffie red cost three when our seven man scrum got mullered.
Against all that, in last 15, when Stormers just spread out across the field, Blues lacked the nous to organise some one off runners to keep defence honest. No, instead they kept spinning it to Turnover Alley.
Blues were better team but can't relly complain.

Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself.....

Have only watched the vid posted above.
Was Duffie's second yellow for a professional foul, ie diving on a player on the ground rather than a high tackle whilst hot on attack? I get that. 2 yellows regardless of why = red. Unfortunate.
Treeby and Ofa should have had some pine time.

He dropped on someone crawling on hands and knees. Very weird situation - but Law 14 probably applies:
(a)
A player with the ball must immediately do one of three things:
Get up with the ball
Pass the ball
Release the ball. -
Ayoub and Veldsman should not be allowed into rugby grounds, even as spectators. Just disgraceful.

In his finding, Sanzaar Foul Play Review Committee chairman Nigel Hampton, QC, ruled the tackle was worthy of a six-week ban. Treeby's "excellent" judicial record and early guilty plea resulted in the suspension being reduced to three weeks.
