How are the AB's tracking heading into the BIL series?

Pat T dropped from Blues squad after turning up late to training. Annnd there goes his chances of playing against the Lions.
Dumb from PT. Can't fault Tana on this call.

jesus. What a poor decision. That'll fuck his AB chances as well. Patty T to be playing Aviva Premiership inside 24 months

He'a signed thru until 2019 (luckily). He'd have to consistently skip training to get his contract voided.

What is this epidemic of headaches? No other country seems to be having these issues.
I'd be interested in whether there's been any pre and post law change analysis when it comes to the new tackle laws. I.E. concussion rates, and also what led to the concussion - was it a high shot or was the player the tackler.
We seem to have a much higher rate of concussion this year following a law change that was meant to reduce concussions. I do wonder whether tacklers are putting themselves more at risk of head knocks by tackling lower all the time.
-
@antipodean yeah I did ask the same question a few weeks back about why we appear to be having more issues than other countries

Interesting call for Laulala: http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/abs-squad/93421108/lions-tour-dumping-of-tuipulotu-could-force-all-blacks-selectors-hand-ahead-of-lions-series. Would make sense as they have to blood someone to replace Charlie. Ofa's ability to play both sides less of an issue when not on tour.

I'm convinced, SBW at 12.
-
SBW 12, Ioane 14, Luatua 6/8

On the Out of the Box podcast today, Nigel Yalden claimed that Coles won't be named in the AB squad on Thursday.
If he can't play then its the right call. You need to prepare 3 hookers for every game.
-
The only thing that I see standing in the way of SBW starting is the lack of combination with the other midfield options. ALB, Crotty, Fekitoa all got decent time together last season and did well. Will the AB coaches want to build on that. Sonny's last starts were with Rock and Snakey

*Ofa's!
I think they still need that ability if they're only naming five props in the squad, because you need someone who can become a late replacement on either side if there's an injury in the warm ups.
@Crucial I can't really see much point in naming Coles if he's not a realistic chance of playing, but Hansen said he would - perhaps just to keep him in the loop on strategy etc. But, if they do then they will simply name a 4th hooker as cover. Harris/Coltman.
-
Taylor and Harris certainties which is fine. However the other options aren't filling me with great confidence.
If Coles is out, Taylor is unlikely to play for the Maori you would think.
-
How amazing, lucky are we with outside backs in NZ? Pretty much any of the back three from any of the NZ franchises would not disgrace a black jersey.
Smith, Dagg, Naholo, NMS, Savea, Ioane, McKenzie, Barrett...and that's not mentioning quality players like Lowe.
