Hurricanes v Brumbies

@Kirwan jokes aside (because you're being so serious) i was more concerned about the loose play, the weakness at the breakdown, and the complete lack of any structure. You can blame the halfback all you want, he wasn't the one ignoring rucks or passively running.

Hardly being serious. I will concede they were throwing too many miracle passes, but when so many of their bullshit plays come off can understand why they try so much.

I thought there were too many ocassions of Canes forwards standing out in the line and not protecting the halfback. They can't just expect that the rookie is going to clear the ball the same way TJP does under pressure. I thought they didn't adjust.
Individually Ardie was superb.
Ponies defensive structure is all over the show.
A good points boost against a very inconsistent side.

@ACT-Crusader Kearns told me they're the best defensive team in the comp...

Aso was good but i think you have to be a little concerned about him defensively. I echo those last week who said we have really missed Proctor.
Very effective with ball in hand but 13 is a tricky position defensively, one mistake - like when he ran out of the line and tackled noone for the Brumbies long range try - and you open up a big hole which is tough for the loosies to cover a bit wider out. Wouldn't mind him at 14 when Proctor is back.

And what about JTA into the AB squad this year ? His scrummaging has been impressive and he is very mobile for such a big man.
Remind me which side he plays again?
We need a replacement for Charlie F more than Crockett. Ofa still looks to be a project.

How good is it having a halfback who passes from the carpet..
Nice try to Ah So@Stockcar86 said in Hurricanes v Brumbies:
Not impressed with TripleT so far - gets to the ruck, and looks both ways before picking up the ball - seems to take far too long
Differing opinions on 3T within a couple of posts of each other.
Personally was not unimpressed. Looked the part.

AFL style!
I actually think Triple T has potential. His pass looks pretty damn good.

From the Hurricanes on twitter: there was a crowd of 13,118 at McLean Park.
Oh, looked a sellout, but that is quite smallish. But still good for a metro area of about 100k.
What is the capacity of McLean Park these days? -

What is the capacity of McLean Park these days? The maximum capacity is about 19.7k. Seating in the stands: 9704 and capacity for approximately 10,000 standing on the embankment.
Don't think that was the number of tickets available though, esp on the embankment the number may have been considerably lower. The stands indeed looked full. I've heard a number of 14,000 tickets, but not sure whether that's correct.
