NZ Provincial Barbarians v B&I Lions (Whangarei, 3 June 2017)

Still 20 minutes of rugby left , you would expect the lions to run away with it ,
But this baa baa team keeps surprising -
Kruis comes on, finally the Lions challenge and steal the Baabaas line out, then AWJ gets caught behind the gainline. What is the point of him?

You mean the lineout in the 22 where noone from either side jumped? Not much of a challenge...

No, the one before that.

I think my feed is a minute or so behind yours.

@SimonAdd_2 ahh my bad.
Farrell with the unpopular but right call for the shot. And misses...wow.
-
Game probably gone for Baabaa's. Just those UK contracts to play for now...
-
I'll wet myself laughing if the Baabaas score another try.

This NZB is almost ideally suited to reinforce Lion preconceptions on NZ rugby... but missing the real differentiator.
Yup, they saw and felt the fast game with lots of counter attack with forwards just as capable as backs with ball in hand, and they also saw NZ variety on attack as well as speed of thought and hand. That's what NZ Super teams can do but also they do offloading as well and the NZB haven't done any.

Lions have been miles offside at a number of rucks in the last 5 mins.
