Highlanders vs. Blues

Talking about clarity. NZR will be happy that this is happening now, instead of during the Lions tour. I think they'll now have a talk to him about what he can and cannot (refuse to) do if he gets to wear the black jersey again. They won't like this type of surprises (and the Blues won't be happy now either). It's way too distracting from the game.

What an utter fluffybunny.
A conscientious objection to those that essentially pay him to play rugby.
Gee I can't wait until he fucks right off out of rugby.
@mariner4life THIS is how to rant about SBW
-
@Hooroo NIB is a Health INsurer
INvestec operates as a bank as well...Makes you wonder why he chose now to make a stand?
-
People are entitled to change and develop their views and beliefs, and how they practice, express and exercise them. That SBW was wearing jerseys with BNZ on it in the past doesn't mean he's a hypocrite. If he takes their money now is what matters.
Edited to add: And wearing a jersey with BNZ on it during (public) training and other photo opps. raises questions as well.
-
@Stargazer not sure what you mean by taking thier money 'now'?
He would likely have been paid by the NZRU while at Crusaders, and some of that money was generated by BNZ's sponsorship?
-
@taniwharugby Yep, that last sentence is what I meant. He is benefiting from BNZ being a sponsor. As I said in a previous post, I don't know where BNZ's sponsorship money is being spent on, but you can assume that every player benefits from it one way or the other. Whether it's via wages, facilities or otherwise.
-
@Stargazer lower interest on loans
-
Surely he has his own cash in a bank. Unless he hides it all under his madrasa. Boom tish.
I'm sorry, but every circus needs a clown.

A lot of assumptions being made that this is a religious based stand. My first thought was that he has a personal sponsorship clash that hasn't finished yet.
Is "personal sponsorship clash" another way of saying "conscientious objection"?
If it's another personal sponsor they'll be fuming. He's just given the competition more advertising than he ever gave them.
