Cook walked but replays don't show any evidence he knicked it.

Cook's bat hit his pad so if there was a faint edge it was simultaneous. But neither snicko or hotspot show evidence there was an outside edge.

Cook walked before the umpire put his finger up so guilty by self-incrimination. 😆

Well that's one way of slowing the game down. Is there even a fire?

funny listening on the radio, they were saying that the people on the embankment that were evacuated, to evacuate had to walk nearer to the building that was possibly on fire and stand nearer than they were on the embankment.

THen when play resumed in low light, the BCs were walking around accidentally bumping into one another...😆

I couldn't help but notice Quinton de Kock batting in the middle order for the test team and opening for the ODI team

Shit yeah, if only we had a positive front-foot talented batsmen who carved up opening for our ODI side, he'd be a perfect test 5!

It's probably that test average of 50 that gets him the nod more than his ODI game... tho' if we have an ODI opener capable of averging 50 in tests I'd be happy to see him called up.

And there's the little matter of him also keeping wicket.

So all Guppy has to do to mirror De Koch as you want, is get his test average up to 50 & become a test match wicketkeeper. And not be injured.

Commentators were making an interesting point yesterday that there's only two NZ players ever (presumably having played x number of games) who have first class batting averages over 50.

One of whom is Martin Crowe.

The other is available for selection and has played one test, but doesn't appear to be in the frame.

Munro bashed two centuries the other week against a terrible Central bowling attack. I just don't think he can replicate that against better bowling attacks and i think his ODI record shows that.

I give up ( and am no where near a laptop but @Virgil will be along any second to talk up Crowe and how it you took out this innings....that one....and those ones that he woulda averaged 55 in test cricket )

@hydro11 Yeah - it's hard to believe that he could, but it's interesting that he can average over 50 where many others have tried and failed.

Of course, if you took others test records out of their first class records it might be a different story. Skippy Sinclair and Chris Harris would be two who would go close for a start (Skippy would make it easily). Let alone people who were test regulars.

    @MN5 it's Colin Munro.

Meanwhile, we got Amla early this morning, wasted a review against Duminy.

Elgar is have Christmas early in Dunedin, because Latham just dropped a very straightforward chance at 1st slip.

They could have been effectively 20/3!

Things really seem to go wrong for you everywhere when you're a bit down on confidence.
