@Rugger-Quizzes assuming the English beat the Scots at Twickers (doesnt look like the Scots have won there at all in the 6N* and not since 1983 in the 5N) the Dublin game will be to make a new win record wont it?
*Maybe 2017 is the year for the Scots!! What you say @MN5
Yes. England have been living on a great deal of luck (and poor opposition) in this tournament. It seems all you have to do is stay close and wait for the other team to implode or go to sleep.
Kudos to them for not doing the same I guess.
I think though that they will probably find a good patch of form at the end and the record will be theirs alone. -

** I think though that they will probably find a good patch of form at the end and the record will be theirs alone.**Whilst I would be ecstatic if that were to happen I don't think it will. Scotland will not be pushovers but I'd take England to sneak it due to the Twickenham factor - a plus for England and it must be a ton weight for Scotland. Ireland in Dublin though I feel will be a step too far for this particular England side. We might have taken it if we were playing like we did v Aus in the summer but not as we are now.

That's all fine but do you know what day/time the victory parade is scheduled for?

We're more of an understated lap of honour just after a loss really.

Uh, yeah, that's right we were all in complete agreement that Cyprus have the record, England have a ways to go yet.

Consecutive win record streak : 18 - New Zealand
Consecutive win record streak*: 24 - Cyprus- that don't include all teams ranked above you
England, you are currently chasing Cyprus' record.
-
@Frye as the #1 team in the world, we can never have a streak on your condition (•that don't include all teams ranked above you)
I'm ok with them having the 'tiered' record.
Were plenty of games in our 18 where we didn't play that well and scraped through.
-
@taniwharugby we're trying to bait the English blokes on here. No bites yet but I was hoping for something this evening.
-
@No-Quarter ah my bad, the English record will be meaningless, for 1 they didn't even play NZ, how can you claim a record if you haven't beat the best, that's akin to the Saffas winning the 2007 RWC without playing us (2 birds)
That's without even going down the route the Poms record wont count because of the tier caveat!
-
I think the English current run of 16 all have been played only against Tier 1 teams by a Tier 1 team.
A true Tier 1 record!

I think that if the average pom learned one thing from last Sunday it's that sometimes not engaging in the manner expected can thwart an opponent's tactics...
-
Nah, Would personally be far more disappointed at the impact on a potential Grand Slam/6N Championship if we lost to Scotland or Ireland. Record is nice, but really doesn't mean a lot.

That would be 17 on the trot if included. PH was being a little disingenuous.

@Catogrande I had a suspicion that might be the case, after posting and started to check... but then couldn't be arsed.
A sign of true laziness, when one decides to allow one's self to look like a fucking idiot, rather than quick fact-checking, or even just deleting post.
