@Stargazer said in Nz maori:
No Hika? He's still a better player than the captain of the team.
He hasn't played much this season, has he?
I'm mostly disappointed by the absence of Jonah Lowe. Nothing better than two J Lowes on the wing.Oh yeah, I forgot about Jonah - he might have got close.
-
I thougt Hoani Matenga would have gone close with the lack of depth in lock and can play loose forward.
-
Good squad, good captain and good coach.
-
@antipodean is cooper really that good? From my memory his successes have been limited.

He coached the only non-Cantab team to win the Premiership since 2007. Seems like a bit of a success to me. That and winning the shield.

A little light on. They are bringing in one more back to replace Declan O'Donnell
-
Also they said one of the AB halfbacks will get some game time for the Maori. Plus I reckon Rieko might be on standby also

@broughie Check out the honours section.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Cooper_(rugby_union)?wprov=sfla1Also hasn't lost a match in charge of NZM I believe.
No one, I mean NO ONE on the fern will bust out a stat quicker than Bones. Even in the early hours of the morning UK time. Julian Savea did text me to see if I saw his tries, I said yep ( had to catch a replay though ) and I was sorry I said his form was slipping a bit. ( we cleared up the whole comparing him to Rokocoko thing, he said no worries but not to do it again )

@Bones So his Maoris have beaten Canada, Japan, US and Fiji which is not that sterling. He was an assistent when the Crusaders won in 2002 otherwise as head coach of the Canes he was runner up once and semi finalist three times. He coached the NZ under 21 to a title in 2001. I suppose this is OK but would not say remarkable. I think his lack of success with the Canes sticks in my memory.

Oh right so success is only measured in trophies? That must suck.
