They can *ff off! The Force are gone; I'd rather see a NZ SR franchise pick him up. He's proven himself worthy of a spot IMO.

That remains to be seen, just remember he had only about half a dozen appearances for Hawkes Bay without ever being the number one in his position (presumably behind Chris Eaton and maybe even Isaac Paewai now I come to think of it).

The list of halfbacks not selected during the 'Eaton' era is frustrating. He's looked better for the Force this year than Eaton ever has.

QUADE Cooperâs stint at Queensland Reds looks to have ended after he was reportedly told he is no longer part of the clubâs plans. The 29-year-old fly half was expected to report back for training at the Super Rugby outfit on Monday but has been informed by new coach Brad Thorn he probably wonât be involved in the forthcoming campaign. âIâve had an honest conversation with Quade and where he currently sits in our plans,â Thorn told the Courier-Mail. âHeâs not training with the Reds at the moment and training with his club (Brisbane City) instead.â Capped 70 times, the skilful playmakerâs Test career also appears over after having been left out of coach Michael Cheikaâs Wallabies squad since his last match against Italy five months ago. Cooper was brought back by Queensland in 2015 from French club Toulon and still has two seasons left on his Reds contract.
QLD rugby right now:

I don't think Brad's ever been a fan of Quade.
-
"Brad Thorn spotted it."
-
I'm surprised Cooper is not wanted by the Reds. At test level, I can fully understand they no longer call him up, but the Reds? If I were him, I'd seek a release of my Reds contract and earn some coin in Europe or Japan. No point in staying in Oz with his international career over.

@stargazer the rumour that keeps coming out of Reds camp is Cooper and Genia were bad for culture and Link let it slide because premiership.
That was also a failing of Link as Wallabies coach according to
thisthose with contacts. -
Maaaaaaardo on the radio saying that Cooper was the best player in the world in 2011but an injury meant he wasn't the same player. Christ that guy is full of shit. Cooper had the RWC from hell that year. Maaaaaaardo was also pumping up the fucker long after his apparently debilitating injury.
Talked to a Reds insider last year who said Cooper was a very divisive influence.
Problem is that he's still got 2 years to run on what must be pretty massive coin.

Maybe Cooper can get a spot in the Aussie 7's squad?

Aren't Auckland looking for a first 5?

@salacious-crumb still astounds me nothing came of that.
