I wouldn't risk getting called up to the Wallabies as last man standing either
Sad day though eh? Good on you for sticking it out so long in club. That's an effort and a half especially when front rowers don't get the ladies.
I had one club game in Oz and realised I was going to spend my time coming up against young failed mungo players that wanted to smash seven shades of shit out of old blokes to prove themselves. Veterans it was for me.
You might make a very good ref though considering all the advice available here.

Aussie Rugby is OVER - at least for this little black duck. Last regular season game saw us miss finals by a few wins in both Grades, so we didn't really deserve to be there. Got to build depth for next season.
As Club Secretary, have mentioned to the President and Treasurer that it was probably my last season with the boots on. I just got home from a massage, desperately needed after getting folded at scrum time against blokes half my age. My bullshitting to the ref only gets me so far these days at hooker, and my lineout throwing and tackling is not improving post-46.
I'm going to focus on refereeing where possible and running game day for our club. Off-season is going to be a red hot go at getting the necessary volunteers we need, rather than just relying on the same few people who will burn out and leave.
The coach wants to start preseason in November. Hopefully by then I'm back under 100kg and have thrown the slippers into the bin. Think they are past their prime...
Well mate enjoy your retirement, and after a year or so you will enjoy getting out of bed without aching .
Rugby is still fortunate to have good uns like you who still putting into game. -

@NTA white boots? Bit flash for a 46 year old hooker.
I bought them when I'd lost a heap of weight and felt the need for speed.
That was about 10 years ago...

Should have got these ones if you wanted to fit in.

@antipodean Agreed. When you nearly concede 50 to the Pumas......

@KiwiMurph I'm not sure how "Lolesio's development has been further clouded by the recall of Foley" - he's second year pro in all reality, and development doesn't happen at Test level against the World Champions.
Do I agree with Foley coming back in? No - it's fucking weird, TBH.
Instead [Lolesio] finds himself unsure whether he has the genuine backing of a Wallabies coaching staff
I'm fairly sure they've given every player a list of work-ons. Lolesio gets another season of pro rugby and he improves. Hardly like he's been chucked to the sharks and left to sink or swim.
too a high performance unit that didn't do its job between the last two World Cups.
Yes there's that but this was always going to happen when the underlying systems are so narrow and blinkered. "High Performance Rugby Unit" here is a way of saying "wait for the next combination of superstars to align".
