Jeez Waikato are really holding on here. Kini is starting to run rampant.

Why is that Taranaki ball after a maul when they took it in?

If a player is held up after catching a kick, that players team keeps the ball.

Kini slipping over may knock the Naki out here.

Wellington to play Waikato in the first semi final next Friday.

Bay of Plenty to face either Ta$man or Canterbury.

Nice to win a close game and get some luck at the end. Nothing to lose next week either.

They say defence wins matches. As we're winners, I didn't like that Playle let Taranaki take out players well in front of the ruck all night. Most of the time it wasn't even subtle.

Yep he did a pretty shoddy job tonight, esp in the second half.

Amazed but pleased Waikato won that. Ref seemed to be picking and choosing what he would ping or allow at breakdown. Great captaincy and kicking game from Xavier Roe despite what I thought was illegal tactics on him and the ruck clearance.
Oli Mathis has a huge future, and Ollie Norris was great tonight. Naholo, Jacomb and Lord all looked classy too.
    Great finals match overall

Need to be directly from the kick tho. Like he can't run a few metres and get away with that.

It's been a pretty entertaining NPC this year.

Crazy to think that if North Harbour had beaten Southland last week, as they were heavily expected to do, Waikato would've missed out on the top eight altogether, and now they've just knocked out the second seeds at home...
