@MiketheSnow The All Blacks lost their last two games to SA by a combined total of five points or Wayne Barnes not seeing a dropped scrum bind and the TMO missing a Bongi knock on.
Wales lost their last two games to South Africa by a combined total of 64 points and I had to get out a calculator to do the Maths.
So why make a personal comparison in the first place?
You'd have been better placed to compare yourselves with Ireland and work out how you can turn a narrow deficit into a win a week later
-
Ratima-Proctor-Love yeah, yeah, yeah
Kick it long in your own half yeah yeah yeah
Don't swear at the ref yeah yeah yeah
Dont kick it out on the full yeah yeah yeah
You know it can't be badrepeat

The current ABs are like the Norwegian athlete Jakob Ingebrigtsen
When they can control the pace, tempo and tactics they lead from the get go and build up a lead and momentum which more often than not leads to victory
When they can't do that and have to either defend a lead or come from behind they often lose
By kicking the ball away so badly they put themselves in scenario 2
-
@MiketheSnow Not sure I agree with that. I think we generally lack control right now. As well as we played in that first 60, we still made errors in execution of our kicking game in particular that prevented us from getting out of sight. And the bench is our achilles heel, something that we prided as a strength before

Super interesting comp actually. Some merit in it. Not so much in the “have to lead and control” part, but more in the “dominant over longer periods, but can struggle to withstand the pressure of a couple of challengers peaking at the perfect moment”.
As an aside, that 1500m was pretty wild - with hindsight, you could have absolutely scripted that for Hocker. Sit in the pocket, watch Jakob move out to block Kerr, slip up the inside, and hope to win with a time that isn’t a Jakob/Kerr pb
Perfect race for him - he’s basically SA rugby…

Wow, that's cool!! The olds are on a tour following the team. Being from Wellie they will feel right at home!!
Hope they're having fun!
They chose an excellent week for Cape Town - it's unseasonably warm and dry this week.
Today is 29 degrees and while it gradually cools towards the weekend, it should still be sunshine. -

That will depend on who loses ... and who they blame
EDIT: actually that simply determines WHO does all the blowing...

They thought the atmosphere at Ellis Park was amazing, just crazy getting in and out. They walk okay, but would have preferred it if the bus could have got them a little closer!!

If they're planning on being at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday best you warn them that vehicles can't get too close there either. But it is not super far from basically any drop-off point, and pretty flat.
Glad they enjoyed the Ellis Park atmosphere. It can be something special when heaving.
Cape Town likewise will be good for different reasons. Likely they will see a lot of AB jerseys there..! -

Assume their tour will take them to Caprice at Camps Bay the day after the test for a long recovery / celebration session?

Just an apology from SA Rugby over the timing issue with flyover etc.
Best wishes
BI mean…very generous…but also - it’s also a bit embarrassing to think that some of us kiwis are genuinely upset about this - its a fucking A380, it’s kinda hard to time and manoeuvre perfectly!
All seems a bit precious to me

Re Sotutu, do we know why he has been absent from the Auckland team lately?
Because he's playing for Counties?
Fuck I am getting old!
Edit - just checked and he wasn't in the listed team this week for Counties. He wasn't a couple of weeks ago too when I bothered to take a look. Is he injured?
Hard to know because their social media is terrible.
