Just over an hour to get your tips in - 37 in so far, we need 40+ please.

The results are in after Week 1 - https://thesilverfern.com/tipping/ and the form is live for next week's games - we don't pick the midweek game so deadline is 7pm on Friday night.
It was a tricky week to get 7/7 but getting 6/7 were @Paj who leads on 49, Laurence in 2nd and @Corkscrew in joint 3rd. @Tim only picked 4/7 but nailed all 4 margins to be level in 3rd along with @Duluth
Wins for Northland, Wellington, South Island and Hawke's Bay.
I've sorted the 39 tippers into 8 teams with people in their team from last year or randomly assigned. Only BOP are a player short, we need someone like @Windows97 to join the team. Other missing players from last NPC are @justin77 @dogmeat @kiwimatrix @broughie @frugby @Stargazer @BorderJB @BartMan

Best of the weekend was @mikey07 - the only one to pick 7/7 results and a season's best of 59. Scoring 57 was @sportboy despite tipping late. Hardly anyone picked the first match correctly so tipping late was not punitive. 54 for @donsteppa Langakali & @antipodean
Big changes at the top of the leaderboard with Mikey07 first and Sportboy second but plenty kept in touch with 6/7 results. Paj dropped from 1st to 6th and 2nd and 3rd place after week 1 (Laurence and @Tim ) both failed to submit. @BorderJB joined the comp and moved into the BOP team. Anyone else can still join - you start on 37, the default score (you get 5 less than the lowest score when you fail to tip).
Wellington and South Island lead the teams comp after 2 wins from 2.
Qualifying for the Cup starts next week - top 32 scores gain entry.
Round 4 - round of 32

Round 6 - round of 8
Round 7 - round of 4
Rounds 8 & 9 - final over 2 legs. -

Nobody picked 7/7 but tipping 6/7 were Winger (top score with 52), Stockcar86, Duluth, Richie, Joan and Mary and George33. Good scores for all of those as well as Kruse, Kirwan and TR who picked margins well. Overall leader is Sportboy which is a surprise to everyone, especially him and a point behind is Winger - these 2 have a small gap to Kruse in 3rd.
Wellington leads the ladder but every team now has a win so it is close for top 4 in this very short race. The first round of the Cup is next weekend, the draw is out and includes everyone who didn't totally suck this weekend.

Difficult week for high scoring with only one tipper (@Landers92) picking a Southland win and only 2 (@mikedogz & @Corkscrew) going for Counties. The rest of the games went to form although the margins were tricky.
MIkedogz was the only one with 6/7 results and led scoring with 44, @Winger and myself next with 39 (ashamed to say 15 of my points were picking Ta$man 17+ and BOP to be low scorers). Winger moves into the lead overall, 4 ahead of @sportboy with @Kruse and @Donsteppa remaining 3rd and 4th. Lowest of the week was @george33 with just 19, a season's low.
BOP squeaked past Wellington to end their unbeaten run and it is still tight for the top 4 with Wellingon and South Island leading the way.
We are into the 2nd round of the TSF Cup, with 3 replays to decide the final 16 - the winner of a replay is the first to get ahead in next week's match tips.

The amusing thing is it was an exercise in confirmation bias. It selected the same winners and most of the margins I had already. So we're both inept.

It takes too long to setup properly. If you give Claude the last five years of results, tables and margins and tweak it week by week it can be quite good.
But the main flaw is past results don’t really mean much and it gives way too much weight to them.
Tips better than me, but that is a comically Low bar.
