Yeah, plenty of time since then, just a funny coincidence.
Looked it up and he was at the crusaders in 2017 and blues head coach in 2019, but can't remember whether he was a blues assistant in 2018.

you know what, that's the most positive thing i have seen out of this coaching group yet. This isn't working, let’s try something else. Nice and quick too.
My thoughts as well, let’s not fuck around with this , see ya mate,
I heard on the radio , tamati Ellison might be the fill in , is that confirmed?

Leon was both head coach of Ta$man and assistant coach at Crusaders for one year. He quit the ass coach job, I think because the dual roles were putting pressure on family life. He was just head coach of Ta$man in 2018.
He was initially hired as an ass coach for the Blues, but got promoted to head coach before the 2019 season started.

Leon was the "attack coach"
Welp with the inneffectiveness of our attack, I assume he had checked out weeks ago!

They should have sorted their difference with arm wrestling.
firstly, Leon is jacked. Tren for life.
secondly that singlet looks stupid as shit. It looks like some fucking bogan has ripped the sleeves off his collared shirt.

You'd hope so - I'm a big fan of his philosophy on the game. Unfortunately he's with the enemy now.
Not being nasty about Leon's departure either, but if we're honest our attack hasn't looked good so far this year and I didn't hold much hope based on his tenure at the Blues.
As noted, it's good that they've decided early. Hopefully this isn't a retrograde step...

@antipodean and until a few minutes ago leon was with the AB's....tings seem to be able to change quickly
without knowing exactly how its gone down, pushed? walked? genuinely mutual? respect to everyone for this happening pretty quickly

@mariner4life probably not but its also very out of character for NZR to be this decisive

it's all very mature and high performance isn't it?
-
@mariner4life WEIRD aye?

The obvious cynical question then becomes, is it next best backline coach who is availble with some transperancy that steps in or a Crusaders (by default) replacement
"hi Tony, you don't really like working with those hulking green monsters do you?"

The timing is a bit weird.
