Was lucky enough to be at the 2011 semi final vs Aus
Was an incredible buzz around Auckland that weekend with the other semi final the night before.
'Four more years' chant ringing around the ground.
So good
That was close to the perfect game. I remember all the talk about Pocock being the best in the world, and our loosies including Richie on one peg smashed him

They just ran at him, took away his one trick. Was an awesome night out. More one sided thn the score suggested

WC final should be but sheesh that was a tense 80 minutes.
Likewise, to the extent that I initially forgot to count it in a grand tally of two...!
About as intense an experience as rugby watching gets. I remember it being mainly sheer relief at the final whistle.

Relief is the word. They left it so late there was no time to enjoy it!! I do seem to recall the team doing a haka in front of us after (not sure if that is real or not). What a crazy night. I remember the final Lions test in 2017(?). Deal gone bad, very frustrating. Watched lots of beatings meted out to the aussies over that time, and a few to the Boks. The opening match of RWC11 vs Tonga was also fun. Not one of the 50, but the BFs winning the WRWC vs England was a huge night as well

Six I think, most of which came during 2011.

Probably quite lucky NZ didn't play against the Boks at Eden Park in 2009 (though maybe the results wouldn't have been so bad that year if they had).
This thread is also a reminder that everyone here is in the 0.1% of NZ rugby fandom and not at all reflective of the larger population. Most All Blacks 'fans' will see a few games in their lifetimes.

The ones that stick out to me:
17/08/2024 – Argentina: 42-10
It was last week and Razor’s first test under pressure.
2/07/2022 – Ireland: 42-19
Peak dislike of Ireland and we put on a brilliant first half performance. Probably one of the better tests that Cane and Ardie played starting together.
9/06/2018 – France: 52-11
One of the best second half performances where we displayed a ruthlessness and precision. Sammy Whitelock was fill in captain and we scored 6 tries in the second 40.
8/07/2017 – British & Irish Lions: 15-15
For all the wrong reasons. To this day that farcical ending has never been explained.
14/09/2013 – South Africa: 29-15
Finished the game with 13 men and the Boks were piling on the pressure in that final 10. One of the more satisfying wins against the Boks. Read was on fire that day.
23/10/2011 – France: 8-7
Had it all. Will never forget it.
16/10/2011 – Australia: 20-6
Oz were feeling confident and many were thinking the ABs RWC choking would rear its head. So many great moments in what was a real old school style match.
24/09/2011 – France: 37-17
Opening RWC match and the nerves of hosting, playing our 2007 RWC nemesis.
14/06/2008 – England: 37-20
Speaking of RWC07, this was the first match at EP after that QF exit. Henry reappointment. I recall the TSF thread leading into that test was a pearler too
9/07/2005 – British & Irish Lions: 38-19
A chance to sweep the Lions and no McCaw or Carter. Henry moved our no8 to openside and a 2nd 5 to debut as the AB 10. I remember watching that test with a couple of Ferners at a pub and feeling a bit nervy after Umaga got carded. But we still got the win and sweep
16/08/2003 – Australia: 21-17
All was right with the world after 5 long years (felt like 10) of Bledisloe returning. Even after putting 50 on them in Sydney a few weeks earlier those plucky Aussies wouldn’t go away. it took a massive effort from the ABs to overcome that experienced team full of Wallaby legends. Mountain climbed and 20+ years on the big cup has never left.
9/08/1997 – South Africa: 55-35
What a match. The tries and attack from both sides in the first half was awesome. Then boom early in the second half Venter gets red carded. Game over. We poured on the points and the Boks had no answer.

Don't know how many I've been to. Somewhere between 20-30 Used to go to at least one a year but then transferred to watching games at Albany or at other venues Did all the RWC plus Lions III which was last one I went to (I think) Also one of the more memorable for all the wrong reasons along with Bled 03 Lions 05 Oz semi
