44 Test tries now for Beauden Barrett. It's some career he's having.

He should have broke Howlett's record ages ago.

He had scored 36 tries from 2013-2019. An average of 5+ a year.

He has only scored 8 in the 5 seasons since the 2019 RWC despite being always fit and seemingly undroppable.

3 against Argentina, 1 against USA, 2 against Wales, 1 against Ireland and 1 in the 2023 RWC Final.

The try against Ireland and the try in the world up final he fell over the line with the ball from a yard out.

The highlight reel runs and ball on a string chip and chases have dried up.

@BerniesCorner Plummer's probably our second best 10 behind DMac.

Yeah, he definitely get minutes against Australia and on the End of Year tour.

How much of that time did he spend playing at 10?

    Played 10 2016/2017/2018.

2019 was dual pivot rubbish with Mo'unga.

And he has basically been a fullback ever since.

This isn't a dig at Rieko's game last night because I thought he did ok, but a couple of matches ago the comms mentioned he hasn't scored a try this year. Is that right?

Well enjoyed that test, as I posted earlier, always thought we would win it, so not surprised at result at all. What I enjoyed was the play of some of the boys that were copping criticism (and perhaps rightfully). I enjoy a bonce back performance, we shouldn't need them , but thats what we tend to get.

I don't have a problem with the yellow but I do have a problem with the Argie going down feigning injury so it would get looked at. It's becoming common place and it shits me. I know he eventually went for an HIA but the way he was carrying on made it look like he needed a stretcher. If he was that bad he should have been straight off. Bet he passed the HIA.

I thought he was getting attention for the shot on his ribs, not the very minor glancing head contact.

I understand and accept why they went yellow, but to me it barely met the threshold.

Either way he played it up and he was miraculously better once Aumua was binned.

Love the consistent Sotutu and Akira comments. Two players that never really grabbed test rugby until they didn't play.

Akira wasn't great V Otago on Friday...and you would hardly call the opposition international level...

YC was BS and we all know it and it was that man again MJ in the TMO box that put yet another AB in the bin for nowt.

It was an absolutely stone-cold Yellow Card and it would have been for the last ten years in any Rugby Union game officiated by a European ref.

You can't go high and anywhere near the head and expect to stay on the field. I've seen dozens of those given.

The players in the Irish National side have learned how to never, ever do that. Some of the AB squad still need to learn.

Didn’t hit him high though did he. He smacked him fair in the ribs.

I'm interested to see him getting slated here. For most of the game he wasn't given the ball anywhere he could do anything with it. The coaching appears to have both midfielders playing close and straight to open the field for the looping player (see Jordan's try last night)
Other time Jordie just shuffles him the ball right at the line.

If we are going to play like that it's a complete waste of his talents.

Very encouraging performance from the boys last night. We played with the kind of control we are going to need against the jaapies if we stand any sort of chance. Good ball retention, kicking for distance out of our danger zone, strong direct running and control of the breakdown. Execution wasn't perfect, but the intention was great

Id love him back out on the left wing.

His try against England in the drawn game at Twickenham is indicative of what he can do. I think Telea or Reece get caught by the defender in the same situation.

He has one foot on the plane to Japan - I'm not surprised he is going through the motions playing in front of 2 men and a dog.

The last game he played that mattered was the Super Rugby final and he was the best player on the field playing 6.

Good win. Does it not rain in Argentina? They didn't handle the conditions at all, they were awful frankly.

We were busy and harrassed the Argentinians in to errors. And then buttfucked their scrum. Lineout was OK, lots of using our shorter jumpers at 2.

Good with turnover ball as well.

Last 20 was a bit ordinary, but everything looked like it had an extra edge to it. Some of the poor bits from last week were still there, and weirdly I think we score less points in the dry. Nice confidence booster before the next challenge.

They were the same team as last weekend. The difference was all on us. Amazing what happens when you put a team under pressure

Will Jordan has 33 tries in the same time period and missed the whole EOYT 2022, and the first 3.5 games of this season for example.

Think he missed a few more games with injury too...think he got KO'd against Australia early on in his career.

    Beaudy has been ever present.
