Kyle Preston and Du Plessis Kirifi were very influential in Wellington's win over Auckland.

Kyle Preston
I thought hae had an outstanding game
Passing
Running
Kicking. Up and unders maybe not so good by line kicking was
Decision making
Defence I think was good tooI will follow him closely from now on
But keep this up and he should be certain to get a SRP contract

Jacomb was another one who stood out
Mate I got fairly big wraps on this fella. Could be because I've seen a fair bit of him being a Naki man. But think he got a lot of what I like in a 10.
He is outstanding. I truly believe he has all the tools to continue on and push for higher honours in the future.

Only watched the Northland Vs Canterbury game. I thought Heremaia Murray was the most dangerous back on display
Does Heremaia Murray have a Super contract for 2025? He would be a awesome player to replace Moorby at the Canes.

Cole Forbes - instrumental link in first 2 games and master of the 50/22

Vai is going well too. A very good back three at this level

He worked well with Cashmore against CM.

@antipodean also with Trask in first game, his pinpoint 50/22 outstanding
Not someone you say is an all attack player, but links well, defends well, and actually has tactical nous.
To be honest and maybe a bit controversial but I thought he was often better at fullback for AKL than Perofeta

@Landers92 really looking forward to watching hia growth over the next season or two. Will be disappointing to see him drop into lock when Lio-Willie is available

@SouthernMann Hopefully they can rotate. I heard a whisper this was Lio-Willies last season down south so if that’s the case why not get Stodart some more time in the saddle. All going well he’s the future 8 for Otago and Highlanders. The boy is still only 20, some massive potential.

I'd be fairly certain Lio-Willie doesn't want to come back after his contract. Didn't want to stay full-time in the first place. Just needs to find a provincial home.

I thought Fletcher Anderson was impressive against Canterbury. The game was a lot tighter and scrappier than Ta$man’s previous outing against Manawatu, which seems to better suit Anderson’s game of hard carries through the middle. He continuously presented himself as an option to carry and consistently made metres through the heart of Canterbury’s defence, both through power in contact as well as through using footwork before the defensive line.
Other facets of his game were influential as well: he tackled low, hard and often in defence, regularly stopping carriers dead in their tracks. At the 44 minute mark, with Canterbury close to the try line, Anderson basically picked up Ennor, who was running an aggressive line off of Heinz, and drove him back five meters. He pushed the limits of legality around the breakdown without being pinged by Doleman (he clearly got under the skin of several Canterbury players, as they lashed out at him a couple of times). And he was effective in the lineout drive, for example when drawing Jamie Hannah away when Ta$man scored their maul try at the 20th minute mark. He had a few noticeable errors (making a poor tackle attempt on Punivai in his own 22 and fumbling a relatively straightforward pass a minute later) but these were outliers in a consistently solid performance. According to RugbyPass, he had 15 carries for 59 metres, made 20 tackles with 3 misses, beat 5 defenders, won 2 lineouts and conceded 0 penalties.
He’s not a player that I feel is talked about very often – maybe an effect of not making a side like the NZ U20s? – but he is still very young and if he can consistently produce performances like this in a well-performing Mako side, he should and probably will receive more plaudits in the near future.
