That gives us 20 medals, when you factor in 10 Gold this is clearly our most successful games.

The contribution of our female Olympians has been overwhelming. 7s, paddling, rowing, mixed sailing, cycling, golf, the women have accounted for all but two of our gold medals (high jump, kayak cross) and many of the silver (shot put, cycling) and bronze. The men have to raise their game for next time!

Inside Lydia Ko's tearful journey to Olympic glory and the Hall of Fame

Inside Lydia Ko's tearful journey to Olympic glory and the Hall of Fame

Lydia Ko spent 2023 crying in hotel rooms. But in Paris on Sunday, after she'd won gold and a Hall of Fame spot, tears of joy followed.

With the monkey off her back, we might see Lids win some more sooner than later

    Who gets the halbergs?

Carrington and Andrews with 2 golds. But surely Kerr with the high jump gold.

France needing 3 points with 3.9 s to go score but the foot was just in and it’s only 2 points. Total heartbreak.

    Fantastic W basketball final

USA win 67-66 with the last shot from Gabi Williams a 2 not the 3 needed

2 massive air balls from France when they had USA ready to roll killed their chance

    Why wasn't Caitlin Clark involved?

France really missed Stéphanie Curie to sink a few 3-pointers.

The commentators really took a lot of convincing that Ellesse Andrews was going to blitz everyone - she just looked so powerful and that she could win with any tactics

Watching the Closing ceremony.....I can still hear the strains of Steve Allen's 'Join Together' somewhere in the distance....

@WillieTheWaiter Did you not see Fisher interviewed on TV?

It was raw. She was gasping for breath from both exertion and emotion. Said she had been to hell and back over the paste few years, thanked her supporters and apologised for letting NZ down. Then basically eulogised Dame Lisa. Said she was an inspiration, so hard working, leads the team by her example, a legend. Far from unstinting in her praise.

They'd need to win ten-times as many to catch us in the per capita race.

The Chinese would need 4,000! 🙂

That was a great games and not just because we did so well. The French really got behind it - crowds for the cycling road race were amazing!

Meandered in the middle but the beginning and end were decent. The LA beach looked more enticing for a dip than the Seine I must say.

Underwhelming closing ceremony but one hell of a finale with my way. Similar to the opening I guess with Celine.

LA part just same old American shit for me.
