@Toddy I think a lot of people have their eye on the Aus test in September rather than this week's Argies test.
The allocation of tests this year is odd.
Argentina aren't a draw so would have made more sense to move them out of Eden Park and Sky Stadium that already have other big tests.
-
@KiwiMurph yeah they should have played the Argie game in Chch or another venue. Probably get a similar crowd and it will look better on TV.
Or instead of playing England in Dunners they could have played that test in Wellington and then played the Argie test in Dunners.

@Canes4life Hamilton get no tests....
-
@KiwiMurph oh yeah that's crazy. Definitely should have shared it around.

Not suggesting that is the team that will play the Boks, but that team would struggle I'd think. I see them using Barrett at 6, and I just can't get behind that. If Samipeni isn't the man v Argentina, then he shouldn't be in the squad and they should look to the next guy...

Disappointing team. Blackadder never the answer at 6, Ratima deserved to start, Clarke deserved to start at 11 too... had heard Jordan was starting, bench spot only makes sense on his return. Will be fun to see what he can do off the bench.
Finau hasn't been either tbh. He's done sweet f all so far. Wouldn't mind seeing Sititi get a run at 6 but honestly we don't have many answers.
My hope is Caleb Delany plays 6 for the Canes next year, he could be the perfect guy we are looking for. At 1.97m, 115kg, great in the lineout, not a bone crunching tackler but he's very solid in every everything he does. He was one of the form locks in Super before getting injured but I don't think he's big enough to be a test lock. A move back to 6 could be the perfect move for him, hopefully someone with brains pushes him back there.

I was coming in trying to be all positive and shit, but you know what? fuck it.
Tight 5 as good as we can get, and i actually have a bit of hope for the 3 locks selected. Lord on the bench is a risk, he could get hurt running on to the field. And then who plays in the row? Fucking Blackadder?
The loose forwards are dogshit. EB at 6 is dumb. Savea better have woken up from his appalling England series. DP is most likely the best 7 so all good there.
Dropping Finau is ridiculous. Give a guy 2 tests and discard? If he's not the guy, why is he still there? Anyone who says he was worse than the rusted on #8 v England is deluded.
Also, our lineout got raped v England so we shorten it? Awesome.
My very real fear is this is their #1 loose forward trio. And it will be eaten by SA.TJP is shit, and leaving. Should have been rissoled.
Backs are okay, I would have picked Clark on the wing but the rest i can live with. All you blokes who crap on about your centre needing to be a distributor should be happy because the best distributing 13 in the squad is playing. Pity he'll get shit ball from 12Impact everywhere on the bench.
I know nothing about what Argentina currently are.

Unavailable due to injury: Scott Barrett (finger surgery), Patrick Tuipulotu (calf), Stephen Perofeta (calf), Luke Jacobson (hamstring).

Finau was our shittest forward in the England series. I'm glad he's gone, he's not the enforcer that everyone talked him up to be. Did he even make one dominant tackle?
As Messam mentioned in Super Rugby, I think he needs to practice hitting forwards and not scrawny backs.
Blackadder needs to step up and get back to his form before he got injured.

Good oil from the Otago username who got this early. Chapeau, sir. It looked wild, and it is wild!
I’m slightly relieved as I myself couldn’t believe it when I was told haha. On the money though, will continue to fire in info as I hear it.
