Why are some sports journalists so stupid?

my view is Jason comes across as a bit of a pillock. He could ahev said we are confident he will be fit for the SA series instead of trying to be smart

The public wnat to know more adn the coaches should give it to them via the media instead of trying to be a smartarse. And pissing journalists of when it really wasn't needed

Surprisingly I find myself disagreeing with Winger.

I will go against the grain here and say that I can see where @Winger is coming from. I suspect Ryan knew the reporters were sniffing around for further information and while it was a bit simple of them to ask the same question and expect a different answer I think Ryan should have elaborated a wee bit more. He wouldn't be giving away state secrets if he said something along the lines of 'He is out for both the Argintine games and we will reassess after that.' After all it is exactly what they will be doing. Ryan did sound like a bit of a smart arse.

He sure did. I think I like him better now.

    He’s no Rob Penney though

this is a weird hill to die on

are there good hills to die on that you can recommend?

Tana should have started the 2003 RWC semi

DC should have been subbed on at half time in that game to try and create a bit of chaos.

At 7-13 it was still anyone's game.

We were cooked , All we did was tackle in 35 degree heat .

I’m not sure if it’s the nz mentality but we always think a back can save the day ,

Our forwards got raped , that’s where we lost the game

@KiwiMurph that was the more crucial as it was soon after that the intercept happened IIRC?

Why, when they were absolutely outstanding in the business end of the Super Rugby season and they look like the type of players who would thrive in Test Rugby, weren't Akira Ioane and Hoskins Sotutu named in the All Blacks squad for this year?

Those are looking like two enormous errors.

I think it is fair to ask if Akira or Hoskins would be playing as bad as who is there now. Not sure who in particular has played best at 6, LJ perhaps? Finau in lineouts? Ardie can still make big plays but how is he tracking around the park?

When is Frizell due back ? He’s probably due a huge game in the middle of next season

This is mainly forward focused, but you could do the same exercise with the blouses.

How many current AB forwards would make a World XV?
Go a step further, how many would make a 2nd XV? Maybe Lomax? Savea if it's picked by guys who have never played, get their rugby from YouTube, and think it's 2 years ago?

Our pack has been outplayed in all 3 serious tests played this year. Ryan can act the smart ass all he wants, but he's clearly not doing his job, or he is and we are deluded about the quality we actually have to offer.

What guys in our pack do you reckon major opposition coaches lose a little bit of sleep over? God I just want one dominant forward who puts the shits up the opposition.

Good question. It might at least make Ryan look happy with a choice between 2 South Islanders.
