Currently sitting 11 on the medal table. Not bad at all.

    The table that counts: https://medalspercapita.com/#medals-per-capita:2024

Odd that they seem to have used 2017 population data - don’t think it changes the outcome though

On the track, making finals will be the target. Tanner a chance in the 1,500m but not a real medal prospect.

Tanner will need to run a much better race in the repercharge than in his heat.

You simply can't let yourself get forced down the back of the pack like that - especially in a slow race. You're never going to make up 10 or 15 metres on the home straight, because everyone has a decent sprint.

Yep he looked way off the pace - have to force yourself into a position to have a chance.

Hobbs looked good but will need a PB to stand a chance of the final, plenty of sub-11 runners in those semi-finals.

Again not defending her and hate this absurd pantamime surrounding her, but whatever she was taking (whether deliberate or not) was not in the same league as this fella.

Pan wasn't amongst the 23 Chinese swimmers who tested positive, and the article I read says he was tested 21 times in July.

Exactly, got trapped early and had to go out the back to come forward - by which time it was much too late.

The winner of Tanner's heat ran 5 seconds slower than Tanner's PB. Tanner 8 seconds slower than his PB.

Is there any evidence against the Chinese swimmer…or is just that he’s Chinese?

Twigg a boat length behind the Dutch world champ with 1200m to go. Twigg has gained a little at the half way point

Twigg made her work for that gold. Florijn is 11 years younger.

Good tactical decision to not field 8's this Olympics. This enables us to spread our best rowers around more crews.

However the 8's are a lot of fun and I think are the cream of the regatta. Perhaps it is a little disappointing we didn't defend our Gold and Silver from Tokyo?

The Romanian women all backed up, perhaps we could have done something similar? At the end of the day I expect Rowing NZ made the best decision for the team. There is something particularly exciting about the 8s though

Macintosh was off pace early but now comfortable in 3rd. I recall he pushed on in the 3rd quarter in one of his races.

McIntosh got back up to third, but then (along with the Greek) faded significantly at the end.
