    Triathlon postponed 😡

Beats me why they didn’t do the triathlon down on the much healthier French Riveria

Jesus - it's carnage out on the wet roads in the Women's triathlon. About a dozen women have hit the deck so far, including one of the NZers.

I hope it dries a bit for the men, because the last thing you want when you've got one of the favourites is to be riding on a skating rink and introducing randomness!

The wonderful-named Cassandre Beaugrand, a Parisan, wins the Olympic Gold in the Triathlon. A hometown win. 😉

I doubt there is going to be an image from these games to match her hitting the tape to win Gold on the Pont Alexandre III with the golden dome of Les Invalides in the background.

The shot I posted yesterday is a magic shot but unfortunately it could literally be anywhere

If I was there as a photographer the shot I would want is a volleyball player spiking the ball towards the Eiffel Tower with the ball caught in the gap in the metalwork

If that happened to be a French athlete then all the better

A wide angle version of this perspective and composition - but maybe the tower may look too small

Alternatively a zoomed in shot compressing the foreground and background

The host nation are having one helluva games so far. Second in the medals table behind Japan at the moment and second in most medals won behind the USA too. Vive La France!

Sounds like Hayden Wilde has a mare in the swim and he's in deep merde

He had a pretty slow swim. Was out of the water about 1 minute off the lead. Should catch up by the end of the bike leg though. Hopefully still has something in the tank for the run.

His chase group has closed up with the lead group. McCullough is there too. Game on

McCullough sat on the back of the lead group doing no work until Hayden's group got to within 10-15 seconds - then he dropped back and dragged them up the last little bit.

    Good work Dylan!

Hopefully he can help Wilde on the run. The 32 man lead group appear to be too far away from the rest of the field

Wilde away smoothly. Someone is 10000m away from a medal. Is Wilde a strong runner? His arch rival Alex Yee is leading out trying to get away early

Wilde is in about 4th from the looks of it. Pretty close. Yee is flying at the front but a bit early to mean much.
